Avra apartments 2

location in the middle of Benitses old town was fine, but we had more then an hour difficulty finding it as; a - the address on booking.com was imprecise b - the booking.com and other on-line maps showing the local area lacked many of the lanes of the town c - there are at least 2 other businesses using the name Avra (Avra tavern and Avra Beach hotel) and locals pointed us to those d - there are few signs e - our phone calls that morning were not answered f - not sure why Avra apartments is listed twice (as 1 & 2) on some web sites as these seem to be the same place. The photos on booking.com were accurate. If you do stay here, find the apartments by taking the lane between shops in the middle of Benitses. There is a general store on the right corner. Vehicles use this road, but in many places is not wide enough for two. You will pass an excellent kebab place immediately on the left, then a restaurant on the right as the lane bends, then 10m more outside a bakery (on the left) turn right. Proceed 30m and take the right fork up hill. After 50m the Argo hotel will be on your left. (If the Argo is on your right, you have taken the wrong fork.) After the Argo hotel there is an unfinished building on the right. By now you can see a yellow building on the left, which appears to be a church. There is a road sign 'no entry' and 'private road' beside the yellow building which mentions Avra Apartments with others. Proceed past the sign for 30m and look right. Otherwise the studio apartment was fine. It was cleaned each 2nd day. Payment is in cash only. Toilet paper and soap were not supplied. We stayed 6 nights, and had a good time. Security of possessions did not seem to be an issue. We found management there all the time. The old guy is a good source of information.
