Hotel-Restaurant 1735

The hotel is not fully manned 24/7 and I was initially concerned that I may not arrive before reception closed at 1900. Thankfully I did and check in was incredibly easy and efficient. The room was very large and spacious and it was very warm but a fan was in the room and worked very well. The location is very good with only a short 7 minute walk into the centre of town. The Cathedral is impressive as is the welcome from the locals and visitors alike. There was no safe in the room which would have made the stay slightly easier for me but in the end the town being so friendly didn't make this a problem. There are plenty of Ice Cream Parlours in town. The restaurant at the hotel was excellent and the food of a top quality. The Technik museum in Speyer and the sister museum in Sinsheim were the main reason for my visit and they did not let me down. Allow 5 or so hours to do each one and that means not seeing everything!! I used the DB trains to move between the museums and the airport and all were efficient although slight delays did remind me of home. I cannot thank all the staff enough at the hotel for helping make the stay so special and providing me with German weather for my stay and English weather for the day of my return!!
