We stayed two nights. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. We took the suite so our two young boys (3,5) could be with us. 2 big double beds - 1 was enormous. Good simple breakfast. Huge garden. Great swimming pool but without a fence for children - however, this wasn’t a problem for us. 25 mins from Toulouse airport so good for early morning flight...

Great young child friendly stop over

We have spent three nights at Arquier and it has been truly wonderful. The hosts, Renée and Pierre are very welcoming and friendly, with good recommendations of things to do in the area. The house is beautiful, very well kept and with lots of attention to detail. Breakfast is homemade and served by Pierre, which serves as a great start of the day. And the garden is soooooo beautiful and impressive!  We couldn't have choosen a better place to stay in the Toulouse area, especially with three children, who enjoyed the house, the garden and the pool tremendously!

Charming B&B

Located few kilometers away from Toulouse, Arquier is a beautiful mansion well kept by its owners. You feel welcome and almost at home! My room was big and very clean. I ca only regret that there is no tv in the room and that breakfast was not served before 8:00. The grounds are beautiful with lots of incredible trees and a very nice pool. 

Charming place, beautiful grounds

We stayed here for one night, we wanted to stay in the country but within a short distance of toulouse. When we arrived in the early evening we walked in and the house was dark, it is very large and we had to ring the contact number as no one was around to welcome us. 

A very nice gentleman came up from a basement room and showed us to our room. We had a ground floor room called four seasons, the giant murel on the wall is a little bit domineering, picturing men with scythes and guns. There are no locks on doors anywhere, being in the country we felt safe but the house is so large would have maybe felt happier locking our bedroom door. It is a very large beautiful house but it is very much like someones home with ornaments and decorations everywhere collected over the years. 

The shutters were closed throughout the house and not opened in the morning making it very dark, someone opening these would make it a lot nicer, and the pool is out of action not heated all year round as it says on the website. We met the owner in the morning who made us a nice cake, bread and some homemade jams for breakfast in front of a wood fire, it all felt very homely, and he was a very nice gentleman. 

There is no restaurant or facilities for drinks at the hotel so we went into toulouse for dinner.

The grounds of the house are stunning and I am sure with a bit more life and the shutters open the house would feel a lot less like a haunted house, if you are expecting a warm and cosy country gite Arquir is very different, but if you want an authentic experience this place delivers!
