The location is good with a great view across to Porto Vecchio. The design vibe is quite modern and cool. But like so many “ boutique “ hotels it then starts to go wrong….
No Wi-Fi in the bedroom, no complimentary water or coffee machine, wonky furniture BUT good air conditioning.
Definitely would not stay here again as the price does not warrant.

Plenty of better options

Great location. You have a nice view at Porto-Vecchio. Great service from most the staff. Pity that the restaurant is no longer working. But the staff made us food two nights. Great. Nice and quiet area. Would like to visit again. :-)

Super Hotel

We arrived to the hotel on July 2 around 4PM and front desk receptionist, who didn't speak English provided us with keys to the room #4, which was under the reception area below the ground level. There was no elevator and we had to walk on very steep steps downstairs. Room had a very strong smell of mold, cracked mirror, no shower door or certain, no curtains on windows (which made it impossible to sleep in the morning or afternoon as sun was streaming through the windows), very old closets which made a horrible noise when doors were open.
We communicated to the receptionist that we can't stay in that room and asked for a different room, he told us that no other rooms were available. After we slept there for one night, we left but were surprised later when hotel charged us for a full week. 

San Lorenzo is not a four star hotel that they claim to be on Booking.com.
Four star hotel should not have cracked mirror, mold in the room, shower where shower head is installed at the height of a child, windows without curtains, unfinished paint in the room and staff that can’t even understand English and willing to kick you out on the street.

Terrible experience - room #4

We spend one night and the young guy who welcome us,was very nice.However, the room we got was located at the ground level where you have to go down some stairs to access to it.
The room by it self was fine like the bed and the bathroom, except the safe was not working.We didn't have any wifi reception which was not useful since we had to check in online next morning to take our plane. When we went out on the terrasse the handle of the door window stayed in our hands.Then, as you get on the terrasse and look on your right, you've the Air conditioning nest to us which was pretty old and an entrance of open shade which was pretty ugly to look at.
I feel for the price we paid it was very disappointing and was not reflecting the reviews that made me choose this hotel.
As far as the breakfast is fine but not great and our Mojitos had the taste of water.

Deceiving experience in room number 3

The hotel itself is set on a beautiful property that has stunning views of the beach and mountains. That's where any positives end. The service was absolutely grotesque; I don't think my husband or I have ever been treated so poorly at a hotel when paying $320/night. Pretty much all the staff are incredibly rude and could not be bothered to help you with anything-- from helping with your luggage (which you need to lug from their gravel driveway that's set on a lower level) to any restaurant recommendations. I'm not sure if they just had a strong dislike for Americans or just don't believe in any type of customer service, but they seemed annoyed by any question. I asked one woman at the hotel, who was probably the worst there and worst person I encountered on my trip to Corsica, for a beach towel and she literally threw it at me over the counter. Upon our check-out, the 2 people at the desk simply stared and watched as my husband and I took our luggage and tried to load it into our car. All in all, I would NEVER recommend this place. Definitely not worth the money. For a similar view, I'd say look elsewhere.

Stunning views, HORRENDOUS service!

We stayed at Le San Lorenzo for two nights in the middle of our honeymoon in June 2015. We looked at a number of hotels in the Porto-Vecchio area, before booking this on Booking.com. The hotel itself is around two years old, and set in a lovely location - a little way up the hills in the maquis, with views looking down over the PV bay.

ROOM #1
We were originally checked-in to room #1, which is tucked away in a rather forgotten end of the hotel down a rather steep and dark staircase - it feels a little like an afterthought. The room itself was quite nice, but smelt of drains and the toilet wasn't working.

We were told that it would be fixed; but after returning from dinner, it was still broken. We were then told that the plumber wouldn't be over until the next day. We requested to be moved, and were updated to room #9 (a larger suite, but without a balcony). A little frustrating that we had first unpacked, and then had to move to the other side of the hotel.

Overall, this SHOULD be a really lovely hotel... it has been done very well, and is in a really nice setting. However, I feel that although it has the potential, it just doesn't quite make it:

- We paid €440 for a two-night stay in one of the smaller rooms, but the price didn't even include breakfast (an additional €11 per person - for a very mediocre breakfast)

- Little touches in the rooms were lacking: for example, the lack of any decoration or pictures on any of the walls throughout the hotel. It was like the hotel had gone to all the effort of being high-quality, and then falling over at the last hurdle. Similarly, the toiletries were very bland.

- The staff often seemed very disinterested. Little touches like knowing the weather for the next day, restaurant suggestions... and a Campari and soda at the bar inexplicably become a whiskey and coke. The wifi wasn't working at all, which was met with a shrug.

- The surroundings to the hotel are quite scruffy - the pool area is really lovely, but a look just beyond reveals messy breeze blocks and rubble. Similarly, the balcony from room #1 stops short, where you have to step through a service area to get back to the pool area.

Overall, the hotel should be really lovely, but I feel that it just lacks that last effort to make it complete - it feels like everything is ALMOST there, but somehow the whole experience is lacking.
