Hôtel Terminus Lyon

This hotel is literally opposite the Gare-de-Lyon station, meaning that in less than 5 minutes' walk, one can go from the hotel's reception to the station's main concourse and vice versa. The rooms are cozy and very clean, with very comfortable beds. The en-suite bathroom is also very clean and of a decent size. As an extra bonus, I had a room on the top floor, with a balcony (furnished with a chair and small table), allowing me to sit out and have a snack and drink whilst enjoying the cool evening. Other nice touches in the room are a small safe (to leave valuables, documents, etc.) and a little fridge-minibar. The buffet breakfast was freshly made and abundant and, something that helps a lot, the hotel starts serving it from 5:30 am, so that even if you have an early train, you still can start the day with a nice breakfast. The hotel is ideal for Gare-de-Lyon but it's closeness to the Metro station means that it is a great place to stay also to visit the whole of Paris. Last, but by no means least, the members of the staff of the hotel are all extremely polite, friendly and professional, fluent in English (and some are also fluent in other European languages, such as Italian).
