The Chalet is owned or used by the Family Ski Company. The location in Ardent was great, a very short walk to the bubble up the mountain and ski in. There are a couple of bars for apres ski which were family friendly. I think they both close at 8pm. There were also two ski shops for hiring skis. There is not much else to do there as it's essentially a small hamlet (but gets very busy in the morning as people drive to the bubble to go up the mountain) but then what else do you need when there is lots is snow! But if you want extra entertainment for children etc then perhaps Avoriaz or Morzine would be better options. 

We had two rooms when we stayed, the twin room with the bathroom for the two children and the double for myself and my husband with an ensuite shower room. Brilliant as we had loads of room. Would recommend you book this option if available. However both rooms had little storage so we kept most of our clothes in our suitcase. One issue we had with the double room was the sound of the radiator filling up in the early hours of the morning which was loud enough to wake us up each morning. Unlike the previous review we didn't have a fixed stair on the landing. 

There was a stair gate on the stairs, top and bottom, so great for little ones. 

The floor in the twin room and the lounge were wooden and you could easily pick up a splinter or two (as we did) so best to bring slippers and we wouldn't recommend children crawling on the floor (our youngest was 10 months at the time) bring a playmat if you can. 

There is a boot room but it  wasn't overly warm to dry and keep ski boots warm. But it wasn't a significant issue and I think we may have been spoilt in previous years. 

There was also a lovely hot tub outside though. 

Buses to and from Morzine go every half hour and are free. It's about a 15 minute ride to Morzine. The bus you need (2017) is route M. 

Good location but some issues

Just come back from a ski trip to France where we stayed in this chalet with family ski. The chalet was catered and the food was fantastic as was the wine.
The family rooms are cosy for 4 people but the high ceilings give an impression of space. Unfortunately by the time you and the kids have spread out its too small. The shower room would not be out of place in a static caravan. 
Sound prevention between rooms can be a little challenging for light sleepers as well.
The chalet is very close to the 10 man bubble lift which never really developed a que and takes you up to a plateau with chairlift links to other parts of the portes de soliel so a good location.
The downside is Ardent is very undeveloped and you will either have to go up the mountain to Avoriaz or take the free ski bus to Morzine for any shops other than the ski hire shops.



Ski trip

We stayed in this chalet with the Family Ski Company. The service from the resort staff from Family Ski was great and the chalet was ultra convenient for the telecabine.  I will go to Ardent again but next time will choose a chalet with either larger rooms or two separate rooms as our family room was too snug for a family of four. 

I would not recommend this chalet for a family with a young toddler as the stairs were not very safe and on the landing there was a fixed ladder leading to attic storage, which was accessible to little ones.
