L'Esplanade is in the heart of Domme, a charming place and town with a wonderful view of the valley.Parking is an issue. We left our car in a metered space (without paying) for about 45 minutes while we were checking in and received a ticket. The staff directed us to an unmetered spot on the street and we left it there for the rest of our two day stay. BUT we were there off season (week after Easter). If you are going to stay there during a busier time you should research the parking options and costs.

The best place to stay in Domme. Fantastic views over the entire Dordogne valley. Rooms are beautiful, large bathrooms, no lift, best to leave large luggage downstairs and take an overnight bag to your room.

Wow! Views forever!

Nice cozy family run establishment. The rooms are on the small side but A/C works and we had a huge bathroom with separate tub. The location is exceptional and the view from our room and from the terrace was breathtaking ! The only thing that was slightly annoying to us was that guests can smoke at tables outside and while the occasional cigarette smoke doesn’t bother me, full whiffs of cigar smoke while I’m trying to enjoy dinner isn’t optimal. 
Would recommend and would go back!

Best view ever!

Beautiful view of the Dordogne Valley! Comfortable accommodations, and very kind staff. The quaint town is easily walkable. The staff gave us great recommendations for dinner, since their restaurant was closed the two nights we stayed here.

Exceptional view from terrace!

The restaurant was excellent.  The views and the location and town  just fantastic.The people who worked there were extremely pleasant.   Our google maps had a really hard time locating the hotel.  Parking is free at the neighboring church starting in the evening until mornings at around 10 am. 
We were disappointed that the rooms were small and not particularly inviting. The bed was comfortable, but the room could definitely use updating. We had to have help getting our suitcases upstairs to our rooms as there were no elevators.  The lady at the desk, not too much younger, tried help me lift the suitcase up the stairs.  We checked in late, so we may have gotten the least attractive rooms. 

Positives and negatives. . .

This 3-star hotel was an absolute gem! The view is one of the finest in France! It is a family owned/operated hotel and restaurant.   We loved everything about this hotel! The owners' mother even works here! (She's an 84 year old angel)! Well done!

Will definitely stay here again some day!

Good views but bathroom was a disappointment. The toilet didn’t flush every time, the enamel in the bath was worn away and very low water pressure for a shower. Room cleaned one day and not the next. No tea or coffee making available. Received one small bottle of water for 2 people 

Great views but needs a refresh

Thé Esplanade offers the best of traditional French hospitality, the staff are welcoming, the food at breakfast and dinner is excellent and the location superb with the best views of the Dordogne valley and the best restaurant in Domme.

Wonderful traditional hotel in the best location

Superb. Beautiful setting, friendly, efficient staff, view from room, overlooking the valley of the Dordogne, is the stuff of dreams, with hot air balloons dancing on the morning mist, and 'Technicolor' sunsets that go on forever until at last they fade softly into the velvet night. Full of character, full of charm, it is as if it has been placed at the top of its hill, solely for those who have made the fascinating journey, through Domme's ancient winding streets, to find their own personal 'Shangri la'. I'm not sure if time stopped while we were there, but I think it probably did. Go !
