While overlanding in our 4x4 camper with a friend, we stayed a couple of nights at Agar Lodge. They were more than welcoming. Gave us keys to one of their very fine rooms to use the bathroom while we slept in our camper. Food was excellent and very local. Though catering (I expect) for mainly local guests, they go out of their way for foreign visitors. Very reasonably priced as well!

Very different and extremely pleasant...

agar lodge is located in bahir dar kebele 11 ,500 meter away from Blue Nile river .it is fully covered with varieties of trees,flowers and green grass .the lodge has grass roofing cottages,bar,meeting halls ,guest rooms ,wedding park ,laundry service and play ground.
it is the perfect place for u and your family ,come and visit us .

Beautiful grounds, nice room and exceptionally hospitable owner, manager and staff.  They made us feel so welcome, bending over backward to meet our needs and make our stay so enjoyable.  Friendliness was "5 stars".  The grounds were beautiful and well groomed.  I would highly recommend!

Loved our two week stay

The room is very clean.there is hot and cold shower.the bed is cultural.during our visit the compound was under construction.it is the right place for አረቄ ና ጠጅ lovers.it is a bit far from downtown of bahirdar city.they call thier city palm city.there r lines of palm trees in bahirdar city.it is aftr the bridge of blue nile river on the way to Gonder city.

I can't recommend this Lodge at all. At the last day of our stay somehow a passport and two creditcards disappeared. The staff was not helpfull at all in that case. Maybe because there was some money next to that passport.
Be aware.
