Hotel Del Sol Galapagos

This is a very nice hotel wirh a friendly owner family. They were not there all the time and had specfic office times, but the service was always outstanding.
They have taken me through an island trip and showed me the beauty of Galapagos.
The new building was under construction and according to the information it will be very nice with a private pool.

The room was very huge and cleaned daily.

Around the hotel have been various shops, stores and restaurants. The City center as well as the Darwin Center and the Beaches, were in walking distance.



My wife, 13 year old son and I recently stayed four nights at this hotel and could not have been more satisfied.  Our suite was large with a single bed in the living room/kitchen area and a full queen in a separate bedroom.  The rooms were quite large and the kitchen has everything to fix your own meals if you like.  Additionally, the room had a sitting area in a covered patio space.  The manager of the hotel, Cecilia, could not have been more helpful and she cooks a wonderful, made-to-order breakfast.  The location is good about a five minute walk down the main street to the waterfront.  The area is teeming with restaurants, shops and markets.  We would definitely stay there again if we are fortunate enough to return to Puerto Ayora.

Excellent place to stay for solo travellers or couples or families, is just 6 blocks away from the port and makes it be in a quieter spot, very friendly staff and great breakfast! 
I would definitely stay there again and I really recommend it.

This is a fairly new building with mainly suites. We had one with a kitchenette which was great for us since we were in town for over three weeks. Make sure to ask though as not all units have stoves. The units are nice but could use a few things like light fixtures. We had a little trouble with not much hot water. The Internet access was about average for Puerto Ayora

It is about 5 blocks from the busiest part of town. We would walk when refreshed. But it was quite easy to get clean taxis. They cost about $1.50 to get to almost anywhere in town.

The staff was WONDERFUL! They were pleasant and would do almost anything to make us happy.

The only issue here would be if you wanted to be closer to the port. We would certainly stay here again.

Most of the places on Galapagos islands are quite basic, with the necessary amenities and not too much of snazz. This place is perfect- it's simple, homely, big rooms, great staff and v conveniently located. 
They make awesome banana pancakes for bfast! 
The owners are v helpful, kind and super! They know basic English and Spanish :) 

Worth staying here!

Loved everything about the accommodation. Breakfast was served daily on the premises and early enough for you to get started for the day.

The room I had was absolutely comfortable and clean. The decor was cosy, which left me feeling like I was @ home.

When I booked this place I thought it was closer to the city centre and the main streets,  but it was a small bit of a walk down, probably 5 - 7 mins so it wasn't that bad.

The staff (Cecilia and the other lady whose name I didn't get) was incredibly friendly and helpful who made every attempt to meet your needs.

I definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone wishing to visit the islands. It was perfect!

A taste of home

Comfortable accommodation with excellent air conditioning and daily cleaning of the room.   The only disappointing aspects were that the room safe didn’t work and it took us a while to check in.  Good short stroll into marina and restaurants.
