Sea Star Apartments Podstrana

Alen and his family are very welcoming, they don't speak a word of English but we got by via his friends interpreting for him (we found out that Alen does speak some German). he arranged to pick us up from split bus station and when leaving he dropped us off there also at the end of our stay (he would have dropped us to the airport had we requested!) These are brand new apartments, ours was spacious for 5 people in spotless condition. There were only 2 of us so we basically had a spare room, our balcony was a big size kitted out with patio furniture and even had a covered area, the main draw though is that the balcony overlooked the sea that was literally 10 meters away and the apartment has it's own private beach section with easy access into the water. Location to Split town was easy via the no.60 bus that ran every half hour upto 12.30 at night 13 Kuna each way, grateful choice of restaurants near by. Marios pizzeria has great sea views and has a Mediterranean feel and not only does high quality pizza and calzon, they excel with the seafood dishes, grilled shrimp were to die for, the chef cooks with passion! For a more refined experience try the restaurants by the harbour amidst the luxury boats, staff are friendly and witty, great wines are available. The only things that we found could be improved were it would have been nice if the kitchen utensils were more extensive such as a can/ bottle opener, we simply bought one for our stay . The TV package is mainly German so a few more English/ American channels would be a nice touch for days when it rains heavily which croatia has had a lot of this year but no big thing . would definitely recommend Sea Star apartments as a convenient base for exploring Split but with the benefit of an escape from the crowds in Split centre. Tip! -Take the no. 60 bus for a few more stops towards Omis and you will be rewarded with gently shelving SANDY beaches.
