Loved our stay at Aroa Kainga Bungalows, the owners are amazing, made us feel welcome and at home, beautiful bungalow, has everything you need. Beach is across the road, plenty of dining places near by. We will definitely come back again, love the privacy as well. Great place to stay at, Totally recommend.

Beautiful little apartment in a serene and quiet area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and host was very helpful. Nice people and beautiful home thank you very much!

The accommodation was perfect - the hosts so friendly. My sister and I were in the apartment downstairs - it was so clean and fresh and we each had our own bathroom. The outdoor space is so private and relaxing too. The closeness to the beach was a real plus - each day just walked the 100 metres to the beach to lie , snorkle and swim. So close to the scooter hire as well. Highly recommend

Relax relax advernture

Ok, so you know when you have a great vacation and then you go back and everything has changed.  Although Rarotonga has changed since our last visit here (5 years ago), we are happy to report Aroa Kainga remains the place to be.

On our last visit, we knew that the previous owner was looking to sell the place.  After deciding we needed a tropical fix- we chose to try here again.  After communicating via e-mail w/ the owner Nev w/ his wife Deb, we decided that it still would have the same high standard as before.

To summarize - perfect location - close to best snorkeling beach, stores pretty close w/o going into town, close to bus stop if you do not get a vehicle, price very reasonable, unlimited bottled water, comfortable bed, good shower, little book & video library and able to cook your own meals if you like that.  But the owners looking out for you is where this place shines.  

We saw Deb only a few times but saw Nev most every day.  He was extremely helpful and took such good care of us.  Like we said, we should have asked him for better weather (it rained about 17 days in May).  I'm sure that if we had he made have been able to pull something off.  We still had a fantastic time - thanx Nev & Deb.  This is the way to do paradise!

The only thing we forgot was to order more sunny weather

We stayed for three nights at the Aroa Kainga, and enjoyed every moment. Nev is an excellent host, and he's done an excellent job setting up the bungalows for his guests. They're spacious, comfortable, and have all the comforts you expect. Very reasonable price point too. We really appreciated having an option outside of the vanilla resort experience. 
There is a small group of very friendly local dogs too, at no extra charge! Please rub the black one's ears for me.

A gorgeous stay in beautiful Rarotonga

i really enjoyed my stay there, rent a scooter and just explore, the owner was very nice to me. no problems with my stay there. close to small stores, for supplys. very close to beach 2 minute walk to beach and bus stop.

Turning 65 birthday

Perfect spot! Off the road so it felt " local" yet all you could need in self catering accomodation . Close to bike hire place so we were self sufficient in transport( esy access to the back road which is the best cycling route). Shop 5 minutes walk away. Appreciated the easy to borrow snorkling gear and reef shoes ( this place is in the best spot for snorkelling at the stunning marine reserve two minutes away). Comfy bed, great shower and delightful outdoor gardens and gin drinking spot on the verandah. loved the fresh fruit and breakfast delights on our arrival. Nev and Deb so friendly and helpful. Thanks so, so much!

Perfect place in paradise!

Thank you Nev & Debbie for sharing your little piece of Paradise. Greeted  by Nev upon arrival , fresh fruit , & everything needed to start your day. We have traveled all over the world, & by far this was the cleanest  & most comfortable accommodations  we have every stayed at.  Across the street , one of the best on the Island , snorkeling . We LOVE  the Cook Islands, & we will return ! Thank you agin Nev & Debbie, your place is BEAUTIFUL !!!

South Pacific Paradise on a budget

Tricia is a delightful, knowledgeable and efficient host.
 We stayed two lovely weeks in the apartment, basically the ground floor, but separate access, of the host’s home. The Unit is spacious and has everything needed for self-catering, comfortable bed etc.  For the tariff, scores excellent, an alternate to the resort type accommodation.
It is a couple of minutes’ walk to a good snorkelling beach and lovely sunsets over the reef.
The half hour bus around the island is at the end of the street, 200 metres stroll.
Don’t expect “reef views from the verandah” and, unlike the bungalows, has no cover outside in inclement weather. We had a lovely holiday, thanks so much
