My friend and I stayed there for a couple of nights. This is what we found:
- At la candelaria; dark to be careful at night, close to the touristical sites and safe during the day.
- VERY NOISY; the hostel has a bar/club inside and they had the music bumping next to our room until wee hours. This is not an exageration. 
- It was pretty cold in the room. There were no windows. The sheets had some other people's hair. 
- We had our ensuite bathroom, which looked better than the room but the chain in the toilet was a phone charger cable and the water was not very hot. 
+ there is free coffee
+ it was quite cheap; around 7 euros each per night.
I wouldnt go back.

Crappy, not special but cheap

When I first got into Bogota my taxi driver didn't even know where this was but upon arriving I was impressed with the hostel. Beds were clean, soft and warm and the staff was very friendly. It's close to everything in the city center and it had this hidden feeling that made it a much more social vibe to it as people staying would want to socialize a lot more. Would highly recommend checking it out.

Hidden Gem worth checking out!!

Stayed 2 nights at Musicology, 1 in a dorm, 1 in a single room.

Dorm fine, beds a bit creeky and annoyingly no plugs next to beds which a lot of South American hostels have (useful for alarms...) Also locker was broken. 

Doors are bit difficult as well to the rooms so perhaps a few maintenance issues here and there, but staff very friendly, nice relaxed attitude at hostel, definitely worth price.

Located close to Barrio Egipto - maybe 1 or 2 blocks? This area is quite dangerous so make sure you head north and west when going out the hostel.

Great, friendly hostel

A good budget spot near most places you'd need in Bogotá or easy enough to get anywhere you'd need. A bit disorganised and kitchen could be better equipped but rooms were pretty clean and everyone there was super friendly so a good start to Colombia overall. 

Decent budget stop off, friendly sociable vibe

After 5 months of going around the world I'm used to staying in hostel as and I'm not that picky a bed is a bed however this place was the worst place I've ever stayed! 

A while after we'd check in (i was on a bottom bunk) a girl asked my boyfriend who was on that bed because it was hers. I went to reception and apparently she was checked into the top bunk and I hadn't arrived yet so the bottom bunk was empty so one of the staff said she could move. I was not going to sleep on the top bunk they don't even have barriers to stop you falling out! 

The next morning I was woken by a cat... yes a cat on me!! Furious I went to reception to ask why they let cats wander around the rooms and into people's stuff and up onto people's beds, the answer I got from the guy was they're cats I can't control them. Why are they there so and it mentions nothing about cats on the website. I said to him that he didn't seem to care, he clearly didn't as anytime I saw him after that he was just kissing his girlfriend at reception, very unprofessional.

So he said we could move room which was nice but the room we got moved to was the smelliest room I've ever been in only one plug at the other persons bed, even though they have signs up saying electricity plugs inside lockers. There wasn't. The bed my boyfriend got the duvet was all ripped and covered in paint and I just felt dirty in this room.

We went out the next day to come back and find our clothes we left on the bed in a dirty press full of cobwebs. When I went to reception about this she said the cleaner had to clean the room. When I went to look they had just lay out the duvet flat and no real cleaning hd happens because the shower was still flithy not as dirty as the first shower that had hair all over it, both with no power very weak! Belongings should be left back where they were found or not touched at all.

Last and final morning (thank god) and the same guy I'd asked about the cats came into our bed to tell us check out is 12 ( which we already knew) and that he needed to clear the room, I said we've until 12 they can't make you leave because they want to clear the room! 

All in all a terrible experience!!!!!!
