This was such a wonderful experience that I moved all my plans around to extend my stay here. The view from the veranda/cafe is breathtaking, the ambiance is very tranquil and pleasant. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The coffee tour is super interesting and reasonably priced. There are plenty of beautiful hikes to vistas and waterfalls nearby both that you can do alone and that you need a guide for. The town itself is clean and extremely safe. The food is super cheap and high quality. Every single person I met here was impossibly kind. There were limited tourists (thank god). I could grow old and content in this place. Both La Nohelia and Jerico are such delightful gems and I highly recommend them to everyone visiting Colombia to recharge and decompress. 

A magical and peaceful place.

Chalet Ecotourism La Nohelia gets everything right. The views are fantastic, the facilities are great. This is a working coffee finca in Colombia, and they will keep your cup full of great, fresh coffee. The owner-hosts, Maria and John, are always quick to ensure your needs are met. They serve a complete, tasty breakfast. This Lodge is a great find! Bonus: it is a very quiet, peaceful place, and you will likely see some of the exotic birds of Colombia. 


Beautiful, peaceful, and friendly.

We spent a fantastic moment in tje farm learning all about coffee with John. The place is absolutely wonderful, the view breath taking, the overall experience incredible. We were 2 guided by John the entire way for a very immersive tour. It was very intimate, insightfull and the appproach adopted very interesting. While the family has been in the business for many generations, John and his current relarives (parents, wife, children) are trying to change the initial process for a more natural approach. Everything from plantation to product packaging is made onsight wich is rare. If you are lucky, you will also get to see the first flying coffee in the world...

Amazing Coffee Tour

Jhon did an amazing and really entertaining hike tour with us. We went to a beautiful waterfall. Took a refreshing bath and Jhon guided us the whole time through the breathtaking landscape with passion and knowledge.
We really enjoyed the nature and the Information Jhon gave us about the history and the culture of Jericho.

Oh, what a beautiful and welcoming place this is!!!!
Some of the most gorgeous flowers and surroundings I’ve ever been to.  I went there for a coffee plantation tour - ended up buying only one bag of coffee because of a very limited space in my luggage but I will definitely order more from the owner once I get home. This farm has not only coffee but many fruits ( bananas, lemons, oranges, avocados, papayas) many of which I cannot even remember right now.  And fantastic lodging site!!!
Highly, highly recommend.

Beautiful coffee farm

My friend and I only went to do the coffee tour with John and didn't stay in one of his rooms as we had lodging in town. John and his family live in a beautiful place surrounded by the Andes Mountains. John is the 3rd generation of his family to grow coffee on this land, and him and his family work very hard. He showed us the entire process from start to finish, and explained in detail the life of a coffee farmer. Afterwords we were treated to a delicious lunch with chicken that was covered in a coffee glaze, so good! Note, the tour is only offered in Spanish, but I am an intermediate speaker and was able to communicate with John. He is pretty patient and it's a good way to practice and interact with a local.

A great coffee tour

My stay at La Nohelia was exactly what I was hoping for.  I was looking not just for an authentic coffee tour, but for a place where I could relax, sleep well, and write.  Eco Nohelia offered all of the above, and more.  I highly recommend the coffee tour, but even if you choose just to relax, there's plenty of that waiting in droves for you.  Breakfast in the morning was delicious, of course with Eco Nohelia coffee!  Lunch is additional - but as it was healthy and delicious, it was also worth it.  

The family is warm and welcoming, from John and Rosemary, to the excellent chef Isabel, to their sweet daughter Luna and even their dog Draco.  

The finca is not far outside center of town - 15-20 mins in taxi, which cost me 15,000 pesos.  The peace of mind, quiet, bird watching, and views are exceptional on top of the quality of hospitality.  And comfortable beds too!

La Nohelia is a beautiful coffee farm. The tour is an experience for any age. My son, my husband, and even my mom enjoyed this tour. We learned a lot about coffe.
John Coffee is an awesome tour guide, he knows a lot about coffee and he teache it in a fun way. Best coffee I ever tasted.

Awesome Family Experience!

Holy Authentic. This place was so incredibly charming. John and his family make you feel like one of their own. They know the lands and the ins and outs of the entire property because it’s been in their family for over 100 years. Their hostel looks incredible, although we didn’t say, we got a tour, and it was magical. The landscape that you see is straight out of a movie. I’m not huge into coffee, and i still took so much away from my experience. Thank you guys! You’re one in a million.

Authenticity at its finest!

John Wilmer is an amazing, passionate and knowledgeable 3rd generation coffee farmer. He picks you up and immediately makes you feel at home. The experience begins in the car as he describes the history of Jericó. He teaches he the process from seedling to picking and roasting. He also showed us the "calles de árboles" that the coffee plays form. The afternoon was finished with an amazing lunch served by "La senora con amor" they accommodated vegetarians with lentil burgers and soup. The meat eaters had tasty chicken with a coffee sauce. The afternoon ended with a lesson in how to brew the perfect cupo Joe. Do not miss this tour or lovely family. The hotel is also built with natural resources from the finca and provides a space to escape technology and the city life with amazing 360 degree views.
