This hotel is just on the outskirts of the old town. Easy to walk to the town centre without being surrounded by it. The staff was very friendly and helpful! They let us check in early in the morning, four hours ahead of time. 

More of the good: 
The room was spacious and quite clean. The big windows let in loads of sunlight which was very nice and pleasant. There is also a rooftop bar for looking at the surrounding mountains, and maybe drinking some wine. Very quaint, in a word.

The Oddities: 
The bathroom en suite was great, except the walls were transparent so not much privacy. I found this was a trend in South East Asia, generally.. particularly in Southern China. It was also very cold in the room, but I understand that there is no central heating in China. Maybe ask for a space heater?

Clean, Fresh, Sunny and Spacious!

We stayed at Lijiang Flower Inn for two nights and felt right at home there. The hostel is located in a much quieter, calmer, and more authentic part of Lijiang Old Town, and yet it's quick and easy to walk to the busier market sections. It's wonderful to return 'home' to peace and quiet after experiencing the loud, crowded nightlife areas. 

The room itself was clean and quiet, with pretty bed covers and purple walls. It had everything we needed: ample hot water in a nice-sized shower with a curtain, in-room kettle, blow-dryer, and a television. The beds were soft and comfortable, which is rarely the case in China. We definitely appreciated the good night's sleep! 

We also enjoyed sitting in the artfully designed courtyard just outside our room and chatting with the soft spoken and incredibly friendly caretaker, Leon, who even offered us a taste of his homemade wine. Leon is well-traveled and speaks fluent English, and he told us to contact him if we have any questions during the rest of our several-month trip in Asia. The whole staff really went out of their way to give us directions and help us out. They also let us leave our packs for a day and a half while we did the overnight hike at Tiger Leaping Gorge. And when I accidentally left my stuffed animal behind, Leon found it for me and offered to mail it to our hostel in Shanghai. They really care about their occupants and obviously go the extra mile to ensure a quality experience.

Wonderful Stay

Stayed here for 2 nights, we booked the room with the private terrace. The room was nicely decorated but very humid and showed signs that this is an ongoing problem. Maybe air conditioning will help. No windows also make it feel cramped. Bathroom is small but ok. We could not properly shut the door to the room, the door to the terrace could not be locked. That said, the hotel felt safe because of the loud but sweet Guardian dog. 
The host/owner was very friendly and helpful. The brand kitchen looked like they where not used often so we refrained from using their services. I think the hotel needs some more guests and care, it has the potential. 


Not great, not bad

We stayed here for 2 nights. We must say that the staff was really friendly and helpful. But the quality of the inn itself was a little disappointing, especially after reading the previous reviews.

- staff plus guests were having a bbq party in the room  (yes bbq inside) next to the bedrooms untill 2AM.  We had to get up really early the next day, and decided to have an early night in but that was not possible. Maybe it was really nice for the guest at the bbq party, but not so nice for the guests that were trying to sleep. Somewhere at 1 or 2 AM apparently one of the other guests (don't know him) wasn't able to sleep to, and started to shout for silence. This helped a little bit. 
- It's cheap, but not great. We saw other deals and nicer inn's that would have been better for us.
- cold showers. 
- on the ground floor the walls of the room have a humidity problem.
- rooms are dark

You can do better than this in Lijang

imagine a small guest house...where you can't access easily even with a small car...in the inner city ; don't try to explain to a "classical" taxi driver...but you arrive , ans you are so warm fully welcome !
Yo feel at home ; there is a small courtyard where you can take your breakfast ; it's not really organized for that , but you find some cake or similar in a very near small shop , and the hotel prepares you a coffee ; you reacher the Heaven .
The rooms are perfect ; the way of closing your door is an heritage from the grand father...you'll see : an easy way ; you feel good . And it's so important in a trip to have such an experience .
Meeting people is the only thing during life .
