Casa colonial Mindelo

We stayed for two nights in this little hotel with it's precious little rooms. We really liked the ambience. The staff was totally nice, charming and helpfull. The location in a small side street was central and everything in Mindelo could be reached by a short walking distance.

Nice little hotel!

Wonderful classic guest house in central Mindelo. Walking distance to everything, including the Ferry which is about 15 minutes away. Quiet location and wonderful central pool to cool off after a hot walk. Rooftop sitting area if you want to see the views.

Quiet Guest House, Central to everything

Wonderful house in the colonial style, little patio with a small pool for relaxing. Staff are lovely and arranging. Came with a group of seven, would book again if we ever decide to come back to Saõ Vicente. 

Lovely house, well located and great atmosphere

Casa Colonial is the place to stay when in Mindello, Sao Vincente. Located near the port and the Presidential Palace in a quiet street. Its a little gem in lively Mindello. Beautiful rooms with their own bathrooms. A courtyard with a little pool to cool down. Beach chairs to chill and benches to write your memoires on or have the extended breakfast they serve each day with bananas from their own tree. Samira and her staff is absolutely lovely and they will go out of their way to make you feel at home, yet they are invisable enough to guarantee privacy. A roof terrass to retreat in the warmth of middays. Trust me this a the place to be when you are lucky enough to get a room. No airco but a ceiling fan that does the job together with the louvered doors to the balcony overlooking the ccourtyard.

Great boutique hotel, go there!!!

Nice colonial era house that has been converted to a B&B.  Rooms are all on inner courtyard with a pool.  Hotel is in a good location.  Very convenient to all attractions.  Rooms don't have air conditioning, only fans.   Had to pay in cash when checking out.

Colonial House B&B in good location.

Nice place. A sort of boutique hotel.Good decor, high ceilings, good breakfast, nice staff.Could hear neighbours' house through a ventilation window, but not a big prob

The room was quite basic. The water rose quite quickly on the shower floor. So be prepared! Otherwise no issues. The hotel has strong ecological views. They also collect some waste water. The location was good! Quite steep staircase. A couple of corners away from good restaurants and bars. The staff is multilingual and very helpful. Tours and tickets are available. Also drinks and travel guidebooks are offered to purchase in the reception. Wifi is only available at public spaces. The breakfast was really good! Some 15 mins from the airport!

OK place, good location

Lovely little hotel located in the center of Mindelo. Close to restaurants/ cafes, shops and market, also to the port and the beach. Everything is within the walking distance. 
The rooms are quite small, courtyard rooms have no windows other than french doors into the courtyard. Court yard has a small pool and few sun loungers plus the tables. The breakfast is served in the courtyard in the morning - lovely selection of fresh yogurt, some cereals, cheese and ham, fresh bread and home made papaya jam (totally delicious). Beds are comfy and big. Generally rooms are a good size for a short stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a wifi available at the reception. 
I would definitely recommend Casa Colonial for your stay in Mindelo and would stay here again if I'll come back to Mindelo.

Perfect small base in Mindelo

Small hotel with a nice colonial ambiance.
Location is perfect nearby restaurants and the city centre. 
Breakfast is oké and served at the cosy inside pool yard. Lots of plants, the  small pool itself had better days.
When we stayed here there weren't much other guests. But I think it will be quite noisy because it is not possible to walk quietly on the old, creaking wooden floors and stairs.
Room has enough space, no airco but a fan. Room is a bit dark because of the shutters. Bathroom and the door to go inside is really tiny, good that they try to safe water. 
There is no safe and hair dryer. Lightning is low and not good for reading. Bed is too hard for our liking. Outside our room we had a kind of living room where you could sit.
At night there is a lot of noise from dogs in the neighbourhood.
Laginha beach is at about 20 minutes walking distance.
