Beach Estates Inn Bed and Breakfast

During our recent trip to Canada. we planned for a four day weekend on Vancouver Island. However, from NZ, we had been unaware that it happened to be labour day weekend. Hence, accommodation opportunity was limited when we tried to make arrangements. We planned to hire a car and sought a central location. Nanaimo seemed to fit the bill. We booked Beach Estates Inn with trepidation, influenced by a previous discouraging review. How wrong can you be! The whole experience was fabulous! From the friendly greetings, meeting our fellow guests, who just happened to be delightful and knowledgeable about the whole of Vancouver Island, to the well appointed accommodation. The food was great and my husband was one happy chappy, with the home cooking, especially the apple pie, which were Frans special treats each afternoon and evening. I meanwhile, loved the fresh picked raspberries from their gardens. Home made preserves, and wonderful cooked breakfasts which set one up for the day. 😊 All the time enjoying the most serene view of the Harbour and the comings and going therein. Nanaimo must be the most central place to enjoy Vancouver Island as we traveled South to Victoria and North to Alberni, but didn’t have time to enjoy Nanaimo. Next time! When we stay once more at this excellent location, which I strongly recommend. Thank you Fran and Niel, for a great time. And next time we will hire the car in Nanaimo, saving the ferry charge as your location has to be the best! Lastly, I would like to make a comment about dietary requirements. Fran, you were fabulous with providing gluten free food, and advice on restaurants providing same. Vancouver Island is a Coeliac's delight! It has to be the easiest place in the world for a Coeliac to travel.
