We visited this guesthouse some time last Fall .  We still think of the wonderful experience. Beautiful B and B nestled in the wood. We had a very nice experience outside the hot tub.  The room was very romantic. The breakfast was excellent. We'll definitely be going back soon. 

Very romantic getaway about an hour from Niagra 

This B&B has so much potential but sorry to say it needs a lot of work.  Parts of the home are nice but if you really look you can see that it needs tens of thousands in maintenance.  The roof has seen better days, the garden is full of weeds, and the outisde trim needs sanding and painting.

We booked a spa style room with a spa tub etc.  When we arrived we were shown to our room and that is when the disappointment started.  First there is no airconditioning which on a 35 celcius weekend is not going to bed good, there is also no sound insulation at all so you can hear everything in the house day and night, and the bed cover had some kind of grit on it.

Upon entering the "spa" bathroom we turned on the bathroom sink and the tap came off.  Then we had a look at the walk-in shower and noticed it needed to be cleaned, as did the bathroom floor, there wasn't even a toilet roll holder.  My husband tried to have a "spa" bath and it didn't really work well.  The towels smelled musty as well.

I didn't feel great about the grit on the bed so I took the covers off the bed and slept with the sheet.  Doing this also showed off the fact that there were layers of dust and cobwebs all over the bed surround.  The website for this B&B also mentions a pillow top mattress which it may have been 8 or more years ago but now it is just creaking with the sound of old springs every time you move.

The hosts are pleasant enough and the breakfast are ok but for what they charge per night this place needs to be cleaned and renovated to a higher standard.


Could be nice but....

David and I spent 4 nights at the Jabberwock Guest House, in the Med. room, with it's private ensuite jaquzzi, king size bed from heaven, private balcony and corner fire place. Linda & Danny were beyond accomodating and really went above and beyond to help make our Rock climbing vacation (Rattle Snake Point), a trip we will never forget! Would reccomend this place to anyone looking for peace and quiet. Loved the food, the  saltwater pool and the gorgeous grounds! Only complaint a cab to anywhere will run you a minimum of 30 dollars, but really a small price to pay for such a great experience!!

An absolute gem

My husband and I recently stayed at Jabberwock for a mini-moon after our wedding. We were both more impressed than we ever expected. Although we had looked at their rooms and photos on their website and liked what we saw, we didn't anticipate that the accommodations would exceed our expectations. We stayed in the Zen Room; The room was perfectly clean, and bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the deep soaker tub. We spent a really relaxing day by the pool and in the hot tub, and enjoyed the comfortable couches in the common guest area. The food had way exceeded my expectations; the breakfasts were delicious, and we opted to stay in and dine for dinner- we had the thai carrot soup, Greek salad, Moroccan chicken, and rhubarb /apple crisp. Everything was so delicious, fresh, and filling. Linda and Dan were so friendly and hospitable, yet at the same time, we never felt like our privacy was being compromised. Overall, I would definitely recommend Jabberwock if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Peaceful and Relaxing; Exceeding our expectations

Wife and I are doing a 2 week road trip across New England and parts of Canada.  We needed a place near Georgetown, ON Canada and ran across this gem.  It is secluded, quiet and the breakfast was great.
There was a deck with a hot tub and a pool.  Being from Texas, I am always looking for a/c, and it was not on.  My only other complaint is that there was no WiFi.
If you want to totally disconnect, this is the place for you.
