Perth Manor Boutique Hotel

A: A night at Perth Manor! Our room: seashell pink and fern, with touches of claret; named for said governess, Elizabeth Hughes (catalyst for Perth’s famous “Last Duel”). A jewel box with soaring ceilings, the walls feature frescoes created for “Miss Henderson”, sister to the original lady of the Manor. Did the blue eyes of the charmingly painted putti truly follow me? I hope so.... Spotless and barely scented with a lovely light fragrance, our room overlooked the sweet terrace, (where breakfast or drinks are served during current indoor dining restrictions) lush lawn and blooming gardens. The bed was excellent as was the soundless climate control (the window opens, too). Common areas, although their use during Step 1 is slightly limited (all COVID protocols are followed) are very original: the ticking clocks, vintage photos and other features make them so special. Returning from an evening walk to this hushed, dignified grand dame of a property was magical. Visit her soon—she reverts to a private home in September and bookings will fill fast. There are just too many details to rave about; go discover her for yourself! Thank you to Gordon & Linda for noting our special occasion and adding thoughtful touches to our stay. Professional yet warm, and “real”, this couple define hospitality. Breakfast was amazing: fresh, delicious, beautifully plated and served with a smile beneath the mask! Our expectations for a quiet, safe getaway in a historic property near home were exceeded.
