Pool and hot tubs nice addition. Garden well kept. Good AC with very hot weather was a gift! Great friendly staff and good location/view of St Lawrence😄

Older hotel but somewhat well maintained.  Room was clean.  Big plus was a seperate heating thermostat for the shower area.  Like many old hotels floors were a bit squeaky.  Bed frame was also very squeaky.  Continental breakfast is very basic and hostess is little overbearing, hard to have piece and quiet while eating.

Old building which has its charm. My spouse had to bend his head in the shower because the ceiling was too low. The gallery is crooked. Good but small continental breakfast

It’s our first time to book in the hotel through expedia but the hotel that we’ve chosen is the toilet doesn’t have exhaust fan! I hope no need to elaborate what is the use of exhaust fan in the toilet.The hotel is quite old but they’re trying their efforts to make it presentable to the guest. Thanks

Water debit / pressure was really low and the staff didn’t want to change the room for me even he has other available. The room is very outdated and beds and the floor  are very noisy. The rooms are smelly and I had to sleep with open windows. I don’t want to go back to this place.

The TV didn't work. The bed was uncomfortable at best. The room wasn't clean. The breakfast was  mediocre with minimal food. The pool and spa area was not maintained. The clim didn't work well. No fan in the room. Overall I am never going back there and I don't recommend it. There are better Motel around with cheaper price. This is not a 2 star hotel.

Don't go there

While the photos and view would have you believe that this place is a worthy option, it is not.  It is run down, not clean,  the beds and comforters need to be changed. We found dust and silver fish. We would have left if there had been another option. Thankfully we only had to spend one night. Not to mention the crazy guy living in an apartment just off the parking lot.

Not as advertised

There's a certain spooky charm in a once-grand hotel that has fallen on hard times. We didn't expect much from the bargain package of room for two nights and a meal for C$260 with tax. Carpets are worn, the front desk is unattended at night, the stairs creak, but you can get some sleep in an adequate bed. Our grand flambé meal was just so-so, with bits of charred meat and an undercooked potato. And though our room was untouched by cleaning staff during our stay, we were invited to leave a tip at checkout(!). Still, the views from some rooms are fine, and the air of faded glory is priceless. Altogether an interesting experience.

funky, you get what you pay for

Booked this through hotels.com and both the booking service and the hotel offered a very poor and misrepresentative/deceptive service.  We arrived at the hotel early afternoon and were told no check - in before 4. While waiting we received a message that our booking had been cancelled and our room given to someone else.  We went directly to the hotel to be told that in addition, we would still be charged 100$ .   Although excessively polite as he charged the 100$...manager made 0  attempt to help find us a room elsewhere as he said it was peak season.  A ruinous end to a family vacation and weeks of fighting to recover the 100$ charge. As other reviews suggest - the place needs work but could be overlooked given location and history.  However , you cannot excuse such poor customer service and predatory charges. The very worst hotel experience ever and recommend avoiding hotels.com and this hotel specifically.
