we've coming here for many years & just feel comfortable & at home. all the staff are friendly & will do anything for you - we had the top floor & yes there are no lifts, in fact there are 98 steps - great exercise each time you go out - so that was a challenge that we enjoyed each day. the heart rate improved each day. but seriously its a great guesthouse & always clean & fresh. the dogs are yappy at night (better than hearing arguments), but they are just doing their thing in their territory. highly recommend this guesthouse. we stayed 15 days, yeh we were that happy there.

love love this gem in kampot!

Arrived in Kampot with no booking but found an excellent room for $20 in this conveniently located guesthouse. Roomy, well-equipped with aircon and fast Internet.  Clean and comfortable.  No kitchen downstairs but a good small restaurant right next door and dozens of others in easy walking distance. The neighborhood dogs may drive you nuts but that's hardly a fault of the guesthouse! 

Excellent value

Don't know why this is listed as being in Kep (though they also have one, more expensive, in Kep). But I wanted to give a good write-up for the Kampot place, particularly for the wonderful Surret on the front desk. He was so helpful and polite, excellent spoken English and gave me great advice about getting around, as well as organising moto's and bus tickets for me. 

I got a fan room on the top floor for $8. Clean, great views from the roof, not shower and a tv with lots of channels. There were 8 flights of stairs to climb but that didn't bother me.

Stayed about a week at this guesthouse. We had initially booked only 1 night as we wanted to check out the area to see if we could find a better deal, but upon arriving we decided to stay for our entire stay in Kampot. Our room was nice and clean, bathroom like most in Southeast Asia - wet room with a shower hose next to the toilet. Rooms were cleaned every day. Roughly a five minute walk to the main restaurant area. The guys at reception were nice and helped us organise bus tickets to Kep. Kampot is a very relaxed and quiet town so noise is not a problem here. As other reviews have mentioned we did hear some noise from the street dogs during the night (although our room was on the higher floor), but it was nothing too annoying. Keep in mind that there is no elevator, so if your room is on the higher floors you will get a bit of exercise climbing the stairs!
