A delightful pousada hidden away in a tropical garden . Lovely rooms overlooking the garden and a separate haman and jacuzzi surrounded by trees. Paolo, the owner is so helpful and his "DIY breakfast system works well in helping guests to meet and share experiences. We really enjoyed our stay there

A charming place in "paradise"

We had a very nice stay here - cant recommend it enough. Paulo (the owner) is very helpful, knows the area well and gives excellent advice. Every morning the breakfast was freshly prepared with different juices and cakes. 

It is a very relaxing place to stay, where you feel close to nature. We recommend you visit the nearby Lontra Project (Otter sanctuary)  and of course the lakes and seaside!

Paraiso!

Alemdomar has to be one of the best pousadas on the island of Florianapolis.  First of all it is in the unspoiled south part of the island.  The “developers” haven’t moved in yet. 

 It is tucked into a hill halfway between a fabulous beach and a spectacular lake.   You can stand in the lake and be surrounded by mountains on three sides yet still hear the waves breaking on the ocean beach.

No need to rewrite what the other trip advisor writers have said so well and so accurately. My wife and I felt totally at home from the moment of our arrival.  Paulo was always gracious and available to answer questions.  He even got us a taxi to pick us up at 4:00 AM.  The chalet spa high on the hill behind the pousada is spotlessly clean and the grounds are spectacular. The other guests provided interesting conversation for each morning’s excellent breakfast. We liked it so much we stayed 14 days in February 2012.

Perfect February vacation

Pousada Alemdomar is a little slice of paradise.  It is located off of the main road that leads from the City of Florianopolis to the Armacao beach, hidden away behind trees and greens.  Once you are inside and on the property, you can only see green around you - trees, lush bushes and flowers.  It is very tranquil and relaxing.  There are two hammocks in front of the lobby where you can lounge.  There are only 6 rooms on the premises, so the place is quite small and very quiet.  There is a sauna and a hot tub that you can use between 6 and 9 p.m.  Paulo the owner was very nice and helpful - he also cooks the breakfast in the morning - a great selection of cereals, meats, cheeses, fruit and sweets.  There is also free wi fi.
You may also borrow beach towels and beach chairs and beach umbrellas.  The pousada is very well located, as it is walking distance from 2 beaches and you don't need a car most of the time (unless you want to check out more distant beaches). When you are there,  I would highly recommend taking a 2 hour hike through the forest and down some cliffs to visit the beach that was voted one of the 3 most beautiful beaches in Brazil, and is only accessible on foot - called Laoginha de Leste.
I forgot my camera for this part of my trip, so I wasn't able to take pictures of the hotel, but the pictures on their website are pretty much what everything looks like - they haven't prettified the photos.
One thing to mention is that we stayed here for the New  Year so the prices were almost double that of regular prices.  Also, there are no TVs in the rooms, if this is something you require in your hotel rooms - this may not be the place for you.
If you are looking to de-stress, relax and enjoy beautiful scenery, this is a place for you.

Tranquil Peace of Paradise

I found myself very pleased at choosing to stay here. A family-owned and run Pousada in one of the most tranquil locations in Santa Catarina, near Armacao and very convenient for the (excellent) Floripa bus services, which I used to travel to the lively and secluded parts of the island. It was right at the end of the primary tourist season, in April 2010, so I was one of the last visitors there. I was in need of peace and quiet, and the stunning scenery of the coastline was an absolute revelation. If I ever go back to Brazil, I wouldn't hesitate to book this location again.
