Can't for the life of me understand the negative reviews on here regarding this hostel.

Me and my friend stayed here for three nights having already travelled for 8 weeks and it is up there with one of the best we have stayed at. And we haven't had a bad experience anywhere so far!

All the staff were very friendly, polite and happy to help, offering advice on activities, and asking if we wanted anything to eat or drink.

The rooms were immaculate, wifi worked really well and the toilets were clean as were the showers. Whilst the rooms aren't the most spacious they are more than ample for what you would expect in a hostel.

The beds were clean, a towel was provided which added to a superb city centre down hill location and ensured a very enjoyable stay.

Would wholeheartedly recommend this hostel to anyone looking to stay in Sarajevo, 

Only stayed here one night (and left at 5am) but I had a nice enough stay. 
Didn't use the kitchen or the communal areas.
Dorm room was clean and fine - a little noisy since it faced onto the main road and i couldn't fully close the window. Don't think there were many people there when I stayed, if there had been more then there might have been a queue for the few toilets and showers. 

It's not easy to find and hard to get in the first time (no-one seems to answer the doorbell) but the staff member i spoke to was nice and friendly and even woke me up to make sure i didn't miss my early morning bus.

For a short stay i think its good value for money.

Cheep and clean hostel

Online price for a bed in mixed dorm room was 10eur, upon arrival I was charged 12eur. I didn't ask what for, since I arrived very tired at 9:30pm and only needed to rest my bones.

 The room where I slept was clean and the beds were equipped with clean sheets. The common area is roomy with sofa and TV, and free non-stop Wi-Fi. 

A little noisy from the frequent traffic on the street below the hostel's bedrooms.

Mysterious price difference

Guy was never there. Took the money in advance and disappeared, never to return, never to offer if we needed anything. Dirty as hell, above the loudest street, no peace at all. Simply abominable, nothing more to say.

Just avoid this cave

We contacted the guy who's managing the hostel and he said he was going to come in 15 mins. He came after 40 mins, first tried to screw us on the money for the room, then did not provide us with towels (though supposedly it was part of the service), screwed us on the 'private guarded parking' (took 15 EUR for a place in an private, unguarded parking lot, lying to us that others are unguarded but this one is) and disappeared. Other guests were not so 'lucky' as to meet him on the spot, so I saw a couple of people resign from taking accomodation.
Rooms were small, dirty and had not been vacuumed for weeks. Beds were OK, sheets were clean. There was noone to take care of the basics, like cleaning up the kitchen, taking the trash out or supplying the toilet with paper. Internet works only inside the rooms and in the living room. Hostel front door was open all the time, so if it wasn't for the gate downstairs everyone could get inside. In the night there's a water shortage - but not only there; anywhere in Sarajevo center you'd better plan your shower before midnight or after 6 am.
Location is very central. However be mindful, the hostel is supposedly getting closed in a couple of weeks - I am not sure if for maintenance, or for good. The sleezy, useless host told me he's selling another hostel which he owned, resigning from this job and opening a restaurant. My God, if I only knew what the name of the future restaurant is I would also tell you to keep away from there. But anyways he might had been lying as usual.

No service or maintenance, dirty rooms and bathrooms

I usually never write a review, unless i think that an hostel is a scam and that nobody should stay there! This is unfortunately the case here. The receptionnist misled me (or tried to steal me, i don’t know) by selling me a bus shuttle to budapest that didn’t even got o Budapest!! The bus stopped at Belgrade and it was not the company’s fault, it was the hostel guy who sold it to me. Problems started even before that. I arrived at 10pm, as planned, and the receptionist was not there to do my check in. This hostel doesnt even have the very basic services: checking guests in and out!! I called the receptionist and wrote to him, but he never came to do my check in. A guest had to make me enter. I had to choose myself a bed that looked empty, where i could sleep. I didnt even had sheets, but anyways they do not wash their sheets. The morning after, still no trace of the receptionist, while many guests were waiting to do their checkout.  Also, the showers and the kitchen were disgusting.
