In the little village of Celles, Belgium is a gem of a hotel, Le Saint Hadelin.  Everything from the narrow cobblestone lane to the rustic furnishing of this jewel of a hotel makes it a charming place to stay.  The room was nicely furnished with a very comfortable bed.  The beakfasts were delicious and the staff very attentive.  We were very late in arriving at the hotel (read very, very early in the morning) so the staff gave us the combination to the front door and placed our room key on an entry table.  We  found the hotel to be a great place from which to visit Dinant, Namur, and the local Maredsous Abbey.  We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future should we find ourselves planning a visit to the area.

quaint and peaceful

Have to agree with other reviewers about this lovely hotel. We were at toward the end of a 10 day trip which had included lots of city crowds, and the peace and quiet at Le Saint Hadelin was just what we needed. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated, and we were lulled to sleep at night with the sounds of the sheep in the adjoining field. We had an excellent and reasonable priced meal of trout at the restaurant, and walked along some of the trails in the town. I wish we could have stayed longer, as this would be a great base for exploring this gorgeous part of Belgium with all the castles.

Peaceful and beautiful

We really loved this tiny village, the farm animals, the architecture and the hotel. It is renovated and decorated with lots of love and taste. The room was clean and nice. Little negative point was the breakfast, it was ok and enough, but the coffee was not on top ;)

I loved it

Nicely decorated room, helpful staff, excellent breakfast and ideal, quiet location. What a beautiful village and place! This is assuredly one of the most beautiful villages of the Ardennes. That hotel is very small and opposite the church, not inside the restaurant, which is one street further.

Charming small hotel in charming village

A real stone and wood hotel, in a beautiful location. The room had a massive headboard and the shower room an ornately carved wash stand. The cosy breakfast room has a grandfather clock and other antique furniture. Enjoyed an omelette as well as the usual buffet. Freshly squeezed orange juice was appreciated.

The best place of our two week trip.

Last (long) weekend my wife and I made the choice to go (back) to the Belgian Ardennes and explore the area of Celles. The village itself is very well conserved from old times and even so the hotel in front of the Roman-style church. We therefore booked the last room available and drove to our destiny. Once arrived we were welcomed by the hostess who was very friendly and helpfull. With the key of our room, called "Amour" we opened the door and were positively surprised by the cosy, quiet and very clean room and bathroom.
We left our luggage in the room and started exploring the very nice neighbourhood, the church(es), Castle Veves (2 km  away from the hotel) and some villages nearby. In the evening we very much enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant associated to the hotel, which turned out to be very affordable too.
After a well deserved good night sleep (the beds were terrific), we were awakened by some sheep in the backyard, which was a pleasant good morning welcome. We too very well enjoyed our great breakfast, served by another very friendly employee from the hotel. We did checkout and went first to the nearby bakery before leaving for further destinations. All in all a very nice experience, our stay at this smal and cosy hotel Le Saint Hadelin !
