I normally read reviews of a place I am going to stay before I make the booking, but this is not the case for this b&b. The location, price and pictures were so nice that I booked it without even thinking.

Expect the unexpected when you call Alexis to make an appointment for check-in time, I don't want to go into juicy details here, but my experience was pretty funny when I came to think of it. So be patient with him on the phone because he is actually nice in person!

This B&B is easy to find, and located about 3 mins on foot from train station and main attractions. We paid for the room by credit card and used it to guarantee a deposit as well. After I read the review about Alexis charging the deposit after the check-out, I checked my credit card, and luckily, it didn't happen to us.

We stayed in another building nearby on the second floor. The spiral stair was super narrow, but thanks to Alexis for helping me with my luggage. The room is nicely decorated and just wow when I stepped in, and it looked exactly like in the pictures shown. Alexis gave you a basic introduction and I had to say the wifi was pretty fast. We opened the windows for better air circulation at night because it was summer, and most of the hotels in Europe don't have air-con. The street was noisy, but you could expect that when you stayed in such a central location, tho I had a pleasant sleep since I put on my eye plugs!

My suggestions for future customer if you want to stay in this beautiful room in wonderful location are to call at least one day ahead and make sure you settle your arrival time with Alexis, pay by credit card to avoid problem with the deposit as he is not around to check you out, and don't forget to bring your earplug!

Poorly managed and maintained.  Dishonest. Peeling façade.  Springs in chair bottom hanging to floor.  Floor boards in water closet rotted. Charged a 75 euro damage deposit that was not returned as promised. Good quality wi fi, adequate bed and shower.

Avoid

Terrible experience, the proprietor is a liar and also took £50 out of my account in December hoping I wouldn't miss it due to Christmas.  Rooms not as expected, the photos are well staged.  Staircase very narrow, top studio bedroom has a dangerous ladder with no handrail.  A health and safety nightmare.

All previous reviews on this b&b are correct. Yes it is very well located which is a major plus but the windows arnt double glazed so you are woken very early by deliveries to local pubs. The pictures of the rooms are very deceptive and they arnt as nice as you think they will be, the toilet is behind a shower curtain so if your not 100% comfortable with the person your staying with then this isnt the place for you. We rang Alexis to say we would be arriving at 11am he said somebody would be there, this turned out to be the cleaner who let us in and showed us to our room. Once in the room I checked trip advisor and read the reviews about deposits not being repaid, we thought we had got off lightly as Alexis hadnt met us,4 days after getting home my partner checked his bank to see he had been charged twice for the room. This man is a con-man and his b&b needs closing down. Just to finish on, breakfast isnt included. There is a fridge with some bits in but theyre all open and you dont know how long they have been in there so wouldnt touch it. DO NOT STAY HERE

Unfortunately I would love to say that this is an excellent hotel but I can't.  Although the décor was great and location was excellent, the service marred the whole stay.  The check-in time is very restricted (13.00-14.00) which is ridiculous when many travelers are on business and this is within work hours which means that the owner then proceeds to charge 60 euros nearly a month after check-out from saved credit card details - a very immoral approach to using someone's card details!  Upon check-in the owner was rude and accusatory, telling me that he didn't think it would take that long to get from my starting location and then didn't believe me when I said that I had been working all day. I certainly won't be going back there and I wish I had read reviews here on Tripadvisor prior to booking (but I suppose that is what you get when you book in a rush!).  I do not recommend the hotel and hope no one else gets caught out on paying extra due to the money grabbing rules of the owner.
