My wife and I, plus a single adult daughter and another, with her husband and 9 month grand daughter had a lovely stay in apartment 1. It takes up the whole of the second level of this 1840s building. It was very clean and comfortable. The main bedroom has a walkthrough wardrobe to an en-suite; check out the range of shower heads provided; pressure was best experienced anywhere in the world. The other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom, with a large jacuzzi corner bath and shower, also a washing machine and dryer. A good range of towels and toiletries were supplied. All beds were queen sized with very comfortable mattresses, pillows and doonas. It has a spacious open lounge and kitchen, with a separate dining room and study. A balcony runs the whole length of the back of the apartment, with a large table and bench seats, 2 smaller tables with 2 seats each and a small barbecue; plenty of outdoor private entertainment area. The lounge has a large wall-mounted television with a tuner-amplifier and surround sound speaker. The kitchen was well equipped, with a gas stove, huge oven, large freezer- refrigerator, dish-washer and 2 microwaves.

Situated at the upper end of York Street, the building was relatively quiet, with easy walking access to town, cafes and restaurants and the City Park. We were not aware of any noise from the 3 ground floor apartments.

Off street parking (not under cover) is provided and a 15 minute parking space outside makes unloading and loading easy.

Bookshelves were stocked with a wide range of books, so great for snuggling down for a quiet read.

The only possible negatives were the height of the kitchen work-bench island, height of the pull-down European style rails in the walkthrough wardrobe and the basin in the en-suite; which are all designed for tall males. People with mobility issues may have trouble with the entry stairwell. Anyone staying for more than a couple of days would need to arrange for additional toiletries to be supplied, as the apartments are only serviced between occupants.

Luxurious and spacious apartment 1

We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment, very luxurious and spacious accomodation. Amazing kitchen & bathrooms with rain head showers. Loved the dining room with its collection of books and crystal glassware.The apartment was very clean. I booked directly with the property, this was effortless and I was very appreciative when we were able to change our booking at the last minute due to illness.  The large deck was a great space overlooking the city and beyond and would be great for a bbq on a summer evening.  Would certainly stay at this property again.

Luxury Accomodation

We had a great time in Tasmania staying at some great places. We booked these apartments for our last night in Tasmania and wow they say leave the best to last well that’s an understatement in this regard as this is the best place I have stayed for the price anywhere in Australia.  

From the check in and being met by the wonderful Clare to walking into a beautiful lounge room leading onto the most wonderful balcony with bbq, bar fridge and overlooking Launceston with great seating and clean areas.  You come back into a kitchen that has more than enough to satisfy any 5 hatted chef with plenty of pamphlets for all tourist places in Tasmania.  Wished we stayed here on first night in Tasmania.  

The bedrooms have massive beds and a desk and bookcases with great books and lighting.  Very quiet at night even though in the street.  The bathroom is wonderful and massive showers.  

Great washing machine and dryer. 

Just the best accomodation in Tasmania.  

Will stay here again and will tell everyone to stay here too.  

Wonderful Accomodation 

The apartment was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for our 17mo son to run around. Great location. It was very quiet, no noise from traffic or neighbours despite the bedroom window being above the street.  We had the 2 bed apartment and the bedrooms were huge. Excellent laundry and kitchen facilities. It had everything we needed and more, I just wish we could've stayed longer!

Perfect for our family stay

The studio room I had was ok but one night at ten pm, when I returned after going out, I could not get back in to my room. The code to the lock did not work. I phoned the after - hours number and was told that they knew the lock was a problem but they did not know what to do about it. The people in the room next door had also been locked out of their room and knew how to fix the lock. If it had not been for them, I would have been walking around Launceston late at night looking for another hotel. For this reason I would not stay there again, and if you do I recommend that you have a back up plan in case you get locked out.

No staff on - site can cause problems

We stayed here because it was nice and close to a venue where we were attending a party. The room was spacious and clean with a lovely balcony. The bathroom was large with plenty of room to sit toiletries on the large vanity. The bed was massive and very comfortable. Will definitely recommend to my friends as a great place to stay when visiting Launceston.
