Called in at the Western Hotel for lunch with my Grandson and his Girlfriend. We ordered the Quiche and Salad,the Tradies Steak Sandwich,and the mini soft tacos. The food was well presented,and  decent sized servings.
On a par with the best pub meals I have had around Australia,and great value for money.

Best Pub Meal

A lovely setting with options of an indoor garden area, sports bar, restaurant or bar, with screens in all of them. 
Only some tables had numbers on them, which seemed to make it difficult for the staff to find the right tables, so not sure why all tables didn't have a number or be given a number to make it easier.
The menu was reasonable and mid priced, $25-$30 for most mains. 
The calamari was perfectly cooked. 

Well worth a visit.

Good food and atmosphere, worth a visit.

Hubby and I were worried that we were too late for a meal at lunchtime on our way back to Clyde, but were relieved that we had made it just in time.

Such a pleasant atmosphere and the decor was just lovely.

Hubby ordered the fish and chips with a side salad, which was a decent size and he really enjoyed it
I ordered the chilli prawns with rice and it was absolutely delicious.
Nice and spicy, just how I like it.

Meals and drinks were reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and happy.
The venue itself was really clean and tidy, something that I always notice first.

Highly recommend dining here and we look forward to returning in the future.

Going out for dinner at the Western Hotel was a great experience. As we walked in we were greeted with a beautiful interior and friendly staff.

The service was fast and the food catered to everyone’s individual dietary requirements and was delicious. 

Highly recommend for families as it was a nice environment and kid friendly. The pub was also in a great location in the centre of town.

Great Pub in Ballarat

Food really good - compliments to the chef.  Service - not so good - hey girls just because we're seniors, no need to treat us with disdain - although I must admit you found other customers  such as young men more interesting.  Some education in how to make drinks wouldn't go astray.

Service with a grimace

Over the last few months, the Western Hotel has delivered both lunch and dinner meals to us. Not only was the food as good as what is served at the Hotel, the staff and delivery has not diminished the quality of the food. I cannot thank you enough. The team at the Western have been absolutely fantastic. They are so focused on true customer service. I have finally found our ‘local’ hotel in Ballarat. Thank you x

Great food, fantastic service 

Great regional pub. Well priced and staff are supper friendly and can’t do enough for you. The food was lovely. Supper tasty and large portion sizes. Worth a visit with gas log fires for the winter months. 

Fabulous service and food

We just had one of our regulars deliver whilst self isolating. Could not fault it! Arrived on time, hot, delicious & reasonably priced! A local wine as well. Very happy to support this local, will again & looking forward to eating in when we can!

We ended up at this hotel by a recommendation from another hotel that was booked out so had no idea what it was going to be like as we were just visiting Ballarat. But the moment we walked in all reservations were gone. Modern decor, great service and really yummy food. Call in and give them a go you won't be disappointed.

A lovely surprise

absolutely lovely place, honest mark (modern day ab Lincoln, has a lovely beard, oils it infrequently, more like a one drip kind of guy) was a lovely host, tom (relatively indifferent but seemed friendly) , jake was happy to go with whatever, locals were friendly and passionate. thank you.
