Hotel Augustus

I booked this at the last minute when another booking fell through and I was very happy with it. Never had a problem finding a parking space. Very central. Rooms clean and large enough. Good breakfast.

On the main street close to the restaurants and many shops;next door is a great place to eat cheap and clean and the waiters were very friendly call Ruta 9 not very attractive from outside but the food was great and plentiful

The hotel is a good choice if you want a centric location to stay and visit Jujuy.

The hotel was ok for one night right in the center.

Well-appointed hotel with parking in the city centre

very clean and staff very friendly

We stayed one night here in july and after two pretty cold nights (with cold showers), in the Calchaqui Valley this hotel was a blessing. 

The good: 
- Our room was on the 7th floor, with a balcony and view over the city. Everything looked new and fresh, the bathroom was so clean and the bed very comfortable. Hot water and central heating was great in cold july. 
- Location was perfect, right in the centre. 
- A safe carpark
- Staff was correct and friendly. 

The Bad: 
- Our room turned out to be the best one. We had all paid the same but the other 2 couples from our family didnt recieve the same value. One room was on the same floor as us, looked basically the same but interior and with no view. The third room was on the 4th floor and looked much smaller, rundown, with no view. So it was funny we had all booked (and later paid) for the same room, when they were so different. We couldnt understand why, becuz the place definitely didnt seem fully booked. 
- For the price we were paying (83USD/room/ night - definitely the most expensive place we stayed in Argentina), we expected a great breakfast buffet. There was a buffet but there was nothing great about it. Just the usual bread, butter, jam and croissants that you get in any hostel. No fruit, eggs, sausages. It was ok, but not what we expected.

If you only need to sleep at the hotel, then the location in the centre of Jujuy is good and the hotel is clean and has decent service.  Rooms are small, street side can be noisy, beds are okay.  Probably one of the better hotels in town.

Functional, clean and well located

Good hotel, great location

We've stayed in many hotels and hostels over our years in South America. Normally we would not spend so much but we were short on options. And we feel like we have massively ripped off. 
1. The shower wouldn't work in the morning, so we had to use another room, fair enough.
2. The breakfast was utterly awful for this price. Croissants that were solid balls of dough, coffee that was the cheapest there is, frozen butter portions. Then, when leaving the breakfast we got shouted at for not handing over a voucher. What voucher? None of this was explained to us. Way to make your guests feel comfortable. 
3. We booked the hotel on a website quoting a reduced price. When we came to pay, however, we were informed that this did not include tax and had to pay EVEN MORE for a totally unsatisfactory experience. 
4. On the 7th floor, the window did not close properly and after 3 days of travelling we really wanted to sleep, but had to listen to the thumping bass from that little dancing idiot in the middle of the street. It was like being in a club. 
5. The staff generally seemed to treat us with little more than disdain. 

I would never recommend this hotel to anybody; which is handy as we work in the tourist industry in Jujuy. We are not travellers, this is our home, and we will surely pass this on to other travellers.
If we had paid £5 for our room - which we have on occasions throughout this continent - then we would have put up with these things, but at this price we are absolutely fuming. Do yourselves a favour and get a cheap hostel.
