Binh Quoi 2 Resort

I visit Binh Quoi 2 restaurant every time I am in Saigon. Although you can get there by boat,I find that travelling by bus is great. A little bit uncomfortable, the experience is fantastic. There are always locals who want to talk whether they can speak English or not. It is very cheap, about the equivalent of 40 cents and you get dropped at the front door as this place is the terminus for this route. The busses travel about every 20 minutes. A short walk up the road and you will find a bus waiting. It is bus 44 and just ask someone in town where the stop is. The situation of this place is very nice, being right beside the river. Very relaxing. The food is great and we have in the last few years have settled on the prawns steamed in beer or coconut juice. we always have the prawns accompanied by the Chinese style fried rice which is one of the best i have ever eaten. Now the important stuff. The beer is usually cold but if it is not they will bring out a bucket with ice and beer. I have found that the largest percentage of people in restaurants in Vietnam are very obliging. With a lot of the staff, their English is not all that good as very few overseas tourists go there as they have never heard of it so if you want a very enjoyable and relaxing day out give this joint a go.
