I had mixed experience with this place. During my first coming I met Lester (Les, a great British guy) who allowed me using their fridge, kitchen and other things since there were only a couple of other guests, and with whom I had nice conversations. But when I arrived in a couple of days after a short break the woman who appeared an actual host was utterly impolite and unfriendly. She for no any other reason but her ever bad mood didn't permit using fridge (when air temperature was up to 50 degrees!!!) and kitchen, even though I offered her some extra money for this, and then suddenly became mad and said me to go away. Not a good idea if your business runs poorly. In a couple of days, in the downtown she nearly knocked me down with her motorbike and yelled that I'd written a bad review for her place (however, I've written it only now).
Other "nice" things about this place: plenty of insects, only 2 dirty toilets and bathrooms for dozens of dorms, unfriendly cook, overpriced food... Enjoy!

Come here.. if you want to be treated like a dirt

I hate to write a bad review, but this hotel was just awful. When we got there, hoping for a walk-in reservation, the woman at the front desk did not speak a word of English. In fact, she acted so confused and annoyed at our arrival that we thought perhaps we were mistaken and had stumbled upon some sort of day care center instead of a hotel (this was on account of the 30-or-so pairs of little kids' shoes that littered the common area). 

The room looked OK, but upon getting settled in we soon found out that the little pillows were like rocks. The a/c made a strange repetitive noise all night and there was a cockroach that climbed down my arm when I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. From 9:30-10:30pm there were a million kids screaming in the foyer and echoing up to our room. 

Perhaps worst of all, the next morning when we checked out the woman that didn't speak English charged me for a large water bottle that I had purchased at the convenience store -- I had NOT taken this water from the mini bar. But the woman was adamant that I pay for it, and either didn't understand me -- or pretended not to understand me) and insisted that I pay for it. We were going to miss our bus if we didn't leave soon, so I had to pay for this water a second time that I already paid for at the convenience store. 

This kind of ripping off was very common and on our stay in Vietnam, and one of the reasons why we got out of there a week earlier than planned and went to Cambodia for an extra week, where the people are friendly and kind-hearted. I'll never go back to Vietnam and I'll certainly never go back to this hotel.
