Spotlessly clean bungalow with comfortable bed.  Seat outside for relaxing and watching the sea and fishermen.  Rona cooked delicious meals and went to the trouble of making Mike orange nor grapefruit juice for breakfast.  Rona arranged the most enjoyable trip to Uri Island which was a highlight of our Vanuatu holiday.  Nothing was too much trouble for Rona and John and they looked after us extremely well.

We have been to vanuatu 16 times but this time decided to finally do some outer islands. These bungalows were nice...but very basic.....no refridgeration.  .the owners were lovely and looked after us well....the food was good but there is no choice of meals you get what is cooked....no kettle to make yourself a coffee which is frustrating....but otherwise very clean

Malekula island

Amel Toro bungalows are 2 comfortable local style bungalows with 24 hours electricity, fen, running water tap and shower, flash toilet, 24 hours free wi-fi reaching bungalows. Bungalows located on the very edge of water (5 m max.), nice comfortable bench in front of each bungalow and beautiful view. There is also Rona's house and spacious local style building of the restaurant. I think there is another larger bungalow, but it was closed and I forgot to ask about it. Amel Toro seats on a large lot of land - so you don't feel suffocated. 
There is a local shop at the road next to the bungalows, there is a kava place on the next block, but we did not go there.
Rona told us we can buy lunch in the shop if we prefer, but I cannot imagine who would prefer Rona's cooking to something bought from the shop.
There are a lot of things said about Rona's cooking - they are all true. Very good food and for a more than reasonable price.
Rona, Dear Rona, little women with big heart, very punctual, very responsible - no vanuatu time at Rona's place. She so respects your privacy, it feels like it's just you alone in these bungalows. But she is always there the moment you need help. Thank you, thank you Rona for arranging Doctor Dominique visit for me - they practically rescued me. Huge thanks to Doctor Dominique for coming and helping me (I was supposed to go to the hospital, but I could not move and he came himself).
When we came to Amel Toro earlier than planned and had nothing to do, Rona arrange local outrigger canoe experience for us, she arranged visit to Uri island - Nanwud Bungalows for us. It was Saturday, it was difficult to find a driver, so she helped us to catch a local bus to the Lakatoro wharf and made sure that Jack from Nanwud bungalows helped us with transport back to Amel Toro.
I asked Rona and she ensured me that I can say to people considering staying at Amel Toro Bungalows that she can arrange local activities for them. She thinks that there is no need to book activities upfront, but I would discuss it with her personally over the phone (it's always with her) or email. Phone better, or you can send her SMS to inform her about the email you sent her.
My husband and I have very warm memories of this place and beautiful woman who is managing it.

Beautiful big bungalow right on the ocean front. Very clean and well-maintained with a very good internal bathroom. Lovely garden too. The real highlight was the food - it was fantastic, by far the best I've had on Malekula!

Beautiful spot, fantastic food!

After being in the Maskelynes, Malekula at Malaflaf (very interesting) , we were happy having a shower, a nice bungalow close to the sea and delicious cooking. We visited the coconut factory with John. Thanks!  The truck trip from Lamap to Norsup was an adventure  (4am) because we were sitting in the front and didn't fell all the bumping.
