Came here with kids 15 years ago so decided to re-visit.  Unit was very small,  no real customer service with Vacasa as their rental go between.  Rediculous 10 AM check out and 4 PM check in,  no flexibility.  Just get a Bot responding to requests for exceptions.  Basically you get 18 hours for $500.

18 hours for quite a bit of money

We really enjoyed this place especially the view and how close is it to the water. Furnitures are slightly outdated and there were ants in the kitchen. Also, time to upgrade the antique TV which automatically shut down after 10 min use. Had everything we needed during the stay and you can’t beat the location and view.

Great view and location but slightly outdated

I had an amazing time staying here! It was the perfect spot to relax after adventuring around Maui. It has a beautiful view where you can watch whales (seasonally) for hours if you wanted. There is also a little private beach area where the turtles nap - this is definitely one of the best parts of staying here. Everyone, young and old, can enjoy the awe of their quiet serenity. 

The condo itself has everything you need for your vacation, and the property has a pool and bbq to enjoy as well.

Beautiful spot!

This condo is incredible inside and out. Perfect location! Stunning new furniture. Very clean, comfortable and beautiful. We felt at home and beyond blessed to stay here. The pool and beautifully manicured and cared for flowers were amazing. There were birds chirping and butterflies everywhere.  We had views of whales right from out porch. We will definitely  Be back and will be telling all of our friends where to stay when they go to Maui.

Had the best time!

We’ve been staying at Mahina Surf for 10 years and have really enjoyed it. However, their prices starting in 2023 are increasing 90%+ across the board. No major improvements or enhancements. Just greed.

Really disappointing. Will find another place on the island.

Jacked pricing

Like one of the previous reviews, this used to be a well kept secret. The condo is located on the west side and has spectacular views. Green sea turtles can been seen up close on a small beach on the property. The grounds are well maintained by a resident manager. He responds quickly to any requests regarding violations on the property. If you are a surfer, you can surf right next door at an area known as “S Turns”. When renting here, you are responsible for the daily cleaning. There isn’t any housekeeping. You are responsible for washing the sheets and towels if your stay is lengthy. While you don’t require air conditioning in the winter months, you might like it in the summer heat and there isn’t any in these units. Each owner is responsible for the provisions inside the condo. The furniture, beach supplies, kitchen products are all at the decision of the owner. Some of the units are better stocked than others.  The units are now under new management and you can definitely see the difference. There is a complete lack of interest when dealing with the office regarding repairs or requests. Some of the units are definitely dated and most people were willing to accept this because of the low rental fee. The fees have doubled to almost triple the previous prices. The owners have been convinced by the new rental management that this won’t deter people from coming here. Several of the ‘long term’ vacationers are disappointed and vow not to return once their contracts are over.  If you decide to rent, this is a quiet area, away from the loud parties and activities you might find elsewhere. It is a short drive from any of the lovely beaches that you will find on Maui.  Do your homework, ask lots of questions.

Used to be great!

It was the best kept secret!!  Not anymore!!!we arrived February 1 for a months long stay,  
We’ve been coming to unit 128 for more than 30 years and it has been going downhill ever since.
The new management company has taken over with sky high  rates and poor quality of of whole unit from the shabby pads on the lanai furniture to the broken chairs in the living room.
The one recliner has been broken since 2020 and really is unsafe to use!  One for the dining chairs broken and needs to be fixed or replace!!
On a good note!
The views from the lanai are spectacular!  Watching sunrise and sunsets can be breathtaking!
The cleaning crew does an outstanding job and keeping the unit clean is a big job in paradise.
We will try to find new patio pads and see if f management will replace the recliner..
We love coming each year and will do our best to see if we can bring the unit back to it’s glory!

Mahina Surf 128

We are now in our third day of our stay in unit 206. The condo was in absolutely top notch condition on our arrival. Extremely clean, well appointed and extraordinarily comfortable. The minor complaints found in other reviews were nonexistent!  We are looking forward to our remaining stay in this wonderful accommodation with the outstanding view.

Highly recommended

This place deserves 2 stars the customer service was horrible the staff are so rude. We found bugs all over the room as if they do not clean the rooms properly. There was no air conditioning which sucked ! The only good thing this place has is the view.

Wonderful view but would not recommend..

Very nice condo with view of the ocean and pool. The pool also has a beautiful view of the ocean. There’s a path down to the beach where the turtles come ashore in the evening to sleep. Only complaint were the small insects getting into the garbage, sinks, patio, etc.
