The campsite is away from the main road no traffic noise ,surrounded by farm land . Touring pitches had sea views . We were an email giving us details of out pitch site and facilities available including pool and bar opening times . They attached a copy of the site map and directions to touring pitch . We went to reception and were greeted warmly with our dog . Reception were helpful even giving us change for the coffee machine ,enjoyed a coffee with our dog in hard floor area of the beachcomber bar .Toilet and shower block new and very clean ,shower head small so water flow small but warm . Sinks for washing up clean and under cover . Water and chemical emptying points near pitch however there wasn’t a drive over waste drain for motor homes to empty grey water . Signs to beach pool and bar good and seen in different points of site . Swimming pool warm and clean good changing cubicles showers and lockers . It was a sign in system with cctv but no lifeguard on duty the times we swam . We were given a swimming session timetable . We went at low season so the entertainment and bar was only open at weekends . We will come back next year and look forward to seeing how Barkers the new owners continue to improve and develop the site . 

Nice tidy quiet site 

We spent a week here in our touring caravan on a holiday with our grandchildren aged 8 and 16 and friends. There was good and not so good.

Good - the park itself is neat, tidy and a lot of pride is taken by the staff in its appearance. The toilets, shower block and launderette are spotlessly clean and fresh.

Not so good - if you go here expecting Haven or Park Resorts levels of entertainment or laid on kids activities, you will be disappointed. The night life on the park is practically non existent. In  fact, if you have kids be prepared to put up with complaints of boredom. There is a play park (if you can call it that) with a swing and a small climbing frame but that's it. The arcade on site has a handful of ancient video games, a couple of pool tables one of which was out of order the whole week we were there. The beach, such as it is, is almost entirely submerged at high tide and the waterfalls although pretty, are much overrated. The beach itself is only reached down a narrow, steep and uneven set of stairs which are a challenge and impossible for the less abled guest - and that's before you attempt to climb back up. The site shop sells a few basic items, bread, milk and butter but is otherwise stocked with overpriced souvenir tat so come well stocked because the nearest shops are an overpriced coop and proper supermarkets are miles away.

In short, if you want peace, quiet and spectacular views, this is the place for you. If not, it isn't.


Must do better

We were staying in St Audries and came across a couple driving round and round in a camper van   so we told them to follow us and we took them to the field. much later we went to go out  only to find the same couple  blooking the road with camper van trying to put water in it. clearly did not know what they were doing but we sat and waited about 5 mins  being totally ignored then another car came behind us so my Husband  got out of our car to go to ask then to move the camper van forward so we could get out  the woman in the van was extremely rude  and shouted and waved her hands about. The man was still trying to sort out the water. My husband got back in out car with her still shouting to go the other way.  I was surprised to read the review she left  as made out all our fault. Nothing to do with  the fact they could not drive the van or work out how it operated. All the  pitches have a hard surface base. The showers and toilets are pristine and their is also a dog shower. The fact that they got themselves in such a state they had to leave  was not  the Parks fault.

Odd Couple

The ride down is steep n withere been a small number of tourers on site the majority of cars won’t reverse for you.we had to reverse uphill whilst towing a caravan!as you reach the site it’s very confusing as to where to go.the tourers have to make a sharp right turnn n come back on yourself to get to the pitches.no one meets you you just find you pitch number on an email.
The pitches are a decent size n kept ok.basic but ok.
The showers are spotless in n out .everything else is very basic n run down.there’s no signs to say where anything is including the beach with in our opinion was extremely dangerous to walk down to.wobbly rails n make do steps.the beach is wonderful though.pebbly but great for a breezy wall n to run the dog.the site gardens are well kept but there’s nowhere near enough bins dotted around.it just needs a good bit of talc tbh could be a nice site if modernised.

Disappointing for the we money and compared to the photos is a bit of a let down

This is more of a static caravan park rather than a touring one. When we arrived there was no one around was like a ghost park. reception was closed. We had a email with our pitch number on so we knew where to go. 
The beach is not very nice it's muddy really dirty and you can sink in the mud to so be careful.  We had to shower our legs and dog off on the way back up as was covered in this clay like mud stuff. 
The toilet/ shower block is clean but the shower is so basic and at a set temperature which wasn't quite hot enough on a chilly morning. 
The bins are not as close to the touring park as should be really so we had to walk them down. 

There is no signs anywhere to direct you to the shop / reception / the beach etc. 

The bar & restaurant was closed! Apparently only open Fridays and Saturdays. They advertise a shop... it was closed but also it's a gift shop, there is no where to buy any food or drink only a garage back up the road. 
The pitch its self was spacious.

Nice pitch

The location is superb, access to the beach down some steps. We went at low tide and was able to access the two waterfalls which was amazing and definitely worth a visit. We were also able to look in some rock pools which the kids loved. 
We stayed in the touring pitches, some areas for improvements. The pitch was very muddy, apparently they can deliver mats for around the caravan but didn’t find this out until we were due to leave so we struggled with kids and shoes and trying to keep our caravan clean. They could have provided some more information to guests. Also, the toilet and shower block is very clean but only x2 showers and x2 toilet so when busier you might have to wait. Also, the showers are push buttons like in a swimming pool so you can’t adjust the temperature and have to constantly turn it back on. This is a nightmare if you have long hair, also gets very cold!

Lovey place to visit but could make some improvements

Just returned from our third visit to St Audries and it’s still as lovely as ever.  The bar reasonably priced and the staff are all friendly and helpful.  We ordered the pizza one evening, it was delicious and came quickly.  The sunsets from the sundowner bar are amazing.   There are steps directly down to the pebbly beach and waterfalls.  If you carry on walking to the left you will see the most spectacular one.   Our caravan was comfortable, well equipped for self catering and had a view of the channel.

Relaxing and friendly site

Good points:
Lovely caravan, spacious touring area, clean park, great walks, quiet site, superb views, dogs love the beach, fab pool, recycling available, helpful staff, similar type guests make the site open & friendly 

Bad points:
*It’s now Aug 22 & there is still no proper food served on site, why? (nope, I do not want pizza every night, nor do I want to drive somewhere else, kinda defeats the object!)
*Huge bar/seating area, but even on dropped hard floor at one end, cannot bring dog in to sit with us which is a MAJOR flaw in this day & age so not really dog friendly as listed…dog owners would also therefore be excluded from any entertainment (if there was any) & this MUST lose this otherwise lovely spacious site easy money. 
* “dog park” is where the holiday park sewage passes through & it STINKS!! (Also right next to the kids playground-poor souls). This area should be fenced off & line planted to access pipes if required, & minimise the smell: while a decent sized dog park could be added elsewhere (guests can chat & dogs can play, a huge plus for all) 

St Audries can & should bring itself up to date with just the minimal effort & it will benefit for it, especially now it is offering lodges in excess of £125k for purchase. Otherwise, like me, people will pay to go to a site that has food, entertainment, & one’s best friend allowed. 
I would like to revisit but for now & the foreseeable future, it’s a no…. ☹️

Fantastic site!  So quiet but with everything you need!  Lovely facilities, the toilet block was spotless throughout our whole stay.

Every member of staff we met was friendly and cheerful and always helpful.  Something here for everyone.  

We had a touring pitch, just us and our dog and having access to the beach was a godsend.  Cant believe this is only an hour away from where we live and we have only just found it!  We will be back with our daughters.

Thanks again for a lovely 1 night stay.

Hidden gem

We stayed here for two weeks and we’re overwhelmed such a beautiful place for our holiday we didn’t want to leave loved so much have rebooked for next year everything there was just first class staff facilities outstanding thank you
