I had to plan a trip to Wells at very short notice, with a late night check-in. The team at The Crown were extremely helpful and organized everything. I first had a tiny room on the top floor because the hotel was fully booked, and then moved to a bigger room with a fantastic view of the market and the cathedral. I loved it! If you like a place with history and a building with personality - The Crown is certainly worth a visit. It’s an incredibly old building with so much history and character, I prefer places like that to new hotels that all look the same. The location is perfect. Right next to Bishop’s Palace, the cathedral and the centre of Wells. Breakfast doesn’t have the biggest variety, but it was perfect for me. Beds are super comfortable.
