We had a 2 night break as a Christmas present and the booking process was really good experience.

Check in was quick and efficient.

We had room 9.  Bit of a trek up 2 flights of stairs not for anyone with mobility issues so check 1st.

Room was spacious, double slay bed. Duel aspect view of the river.  Bathroom was spacious.

We tend to agree the decor is a tired but room was clean and cosy.

Our only issue was the chimney from the dining room would discharge smoke directly into our open window.

The chimney needs an extension to prevent this.

We ate 1 night. Food was good if a tad expensive.  

Overall great value for money 💰 

2 night break 

Had a fantastic 2 days. Lovely hotel with freindly and welcoming staff. Went to the resturant on both evening. The menu had all alergens listed and the staff and chef were realy kind and helpfull.
I have 5 allergies so usualy I have limited options. My experience here was amazing the food was of hight standatds. I had 2 meals botb of which are way up there with the top meals I have ever eaten out.

We stayed one night. All the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help . Our room was clean and spacious with views over the river. The restaurant and bar area were very pleasant to sit in. Evening meals were nice with a  good menu choice as was breakfast the following day.. Parking was easy. Received a permit from the hotel to display in our car. £7 for 24hrs plus. The area outside the hotel was great for walks down the river and into the forest. Our terrier loved his stay!  We would definitely recommend this hotel.

A wonderful quirky area to visit is Yat!

Super comfy bed, great staff who couldnt do enough for you. Restaurant food was top class with a good selection both at breakfast and dinner time.  Great views from river view rooms.  

Rooms are a good size and daily housekeeping.  Easy check in, wifi is good in the hotel.  TV in the room was a decent size and rooms were spotlessly clean and had plenty of tea and coffee and bottled water.  Highly recommend - service was brilliant

Great value

Just back from a lovely 2 night stay, used a Red Letter Day Voucher for a belated anniversary break away. We found the hotel really pleasant, friendly, and exceptionally dog friendly our four legged friend loved it too. We had a lovely quiet room over the river and enjoyed the peace and tranquility nothing like waking up to bird song and the woosh of the river. We had a meal in the restaurant one night and ate elsewhere on second night but had a lovely generous meal with great service all round. We would recommend highly for a dog friendly short break.

Short break for R&R

Lovely friendly hotel.  The dining room was a lovely space with a log burner and you could take your dog.  We had an afternoon tea, evening meal and breakfast.  All excellent meals.  Wine a bit pricey though.  We had a double aspect room overlooking the Wye - view beautiful especially with the autumn colours.  The walks were literally outside the front door and Symonds Yat rock was directly behind us. Rained a bit but the hotel was a cosy warm sanctuary from  the elements.  Staff were all very pleasant.  Would definitely go again.

Lovely retreat

A fantastic evening and stay! Our party of 9 were well looked after! 
Hotel was beautiful, rooms were absolutely terrific. And the breakfast was delicious. The staff were all pleasant and really kind, engaging with us! 

A stunning plave to stay! 

Just returned from a 2 night break at Royal Lodge, lovely setting on the banks of the river Wye, staff very friendly and welcoming, food excellent. Room a little tired but view more than made up for it!

Stayed one night,very good sleep,lovely outlook over the river.Friendly staff and helpful,Evening meal very food,loads to eat,and well cooked,we think the car parking should be free for guests.over all very good stay

Good stay

After a long walk to the ROCK and ARTHERS CAVE  we decided to go this this beautiful place for some food and drinks only to find it so unfortunate that hotel staff had to deal with disrespectful people who dumped their dog mess bag on the car park. That Was not left under their car at all and when politely asked about it the customers were extremely rude and stated Someone would pick it up !!!  It’s not our car!!! (Even though they drove in the car park and out in that car) There was a few people in the garden who witnessed the whole situation we was all shocked how quickly the young family turned on royal lodges team and good on the management for telling them to leave. Unbelievable how people have no respect and when staff try to deal with the situation they get abused and threaten. Loved my visit and sure will return very soon !
