I stayed there one night for a concert in Cardiff's Principality Stadium. From Cardiff Central it takes you 30 minutes to Treforest and then you need to walk about 15 minutes to get to the Guest House. Be prepared for the last bit up the hill. It is quite steep. If you get there by car you can park in front of the hotel. 

I had a single room which had everything you could ask for. They have a lounge with a TV where you can consume your food and drinks. Very friendly and warm welcome. You need to book a time for Breakfast. 

Breakfast is great. Homemade with love. You can feel that. All in all, it is a very nice charming place. Some might find it outdated.

Lovely Little Guest House

We stayed at the Central Guest House in Pontypridd for one night as we were attending an open day at the South Wales University just a 5 minute drive from the Guest House. 
The Lady who owns and runs the Guest House was very friendly and helpful, nothing was to much trouble. 
The room was really nice clean and tidy. 
And we had a great night's sleep. 
Breakfast in the morning was really good, plenty of everything and very tasty, cooked to perfection. 
I would stay there again and definitely recommend this Guest House to anyone wanting to stay in Pontypridd.

One night stay.

Nice stay here for work last month. Was working nights but was well looked after by the staff. Comfy bed and a clean room. Useful parking on site, though your sat nav wants to take you up the hill round the back of the hotel - don't follow it! Thanks

Nice stay

What a little Gem this is. We travelled from Cheshire to take my nephew to Treforest Uni and stayed for one night. 

We were greeted at the door and the owners were lovely, explaining everything, asking us to sanitize our hands on arrival. We checked in and were shown to our rooms which were lovely. The bed was really comfy and there were tea and coffee facilities. The Bathrooms had a huge shower and was lovely and clean. Because we were the only people staying in the guest house we could use the lounge which had tea and coffee facilities, a tv,lots of books and a lovely leather corner sofa to relax on. 

We needed to sort out a taxi and went to get some business cards from reception, our nephew came back to us and they had booked our taxi for us too which was really nice of them. 
Breakfast this morning was one if the nicest i have had. Ceareals, fruit juice then a full english with toast tea and coffee. We paid 55.00 for the night and will definitely be staying again.

Uni Weekend

I booked a weekend stay at the Central Guest House as a base of operations for exploring the valleys. 
It’s located on a steep cul de sac on a hill overlooking Treforest and Pontypridd. It has dedicated parking but there is parking available on the street also if the spaces provided are full which happened to me on the second night. 

I was given a warm welcome and checked in smoothly. The facilities were pointed out, COVID policy explained, and my breakfast order taken for the morning, then I was shown my room. 
It was clean and tidy, with a an en-suite bathroom and wardrobe, desk and bedside table. There was a communal room available with tv but I availed myself of the WiFi and Netflix. 
The walls are quite thin and the floors a little creaky. If you’re a light sleeper this might be a problem but I’m not so I slept well on a firm, comfortable bed. 
The highlight of the stay was the breakfast, which I recommend you include when you book. The bacon was thick and good quality, as was the sausage. I also had hash brown, tomatoes (not a fan but I hadn’t told them that, beans were supplied on day 2) and toast. I was given the option to have orange juice as well as coffee and more was available if I wished. I felt like nothing was too much trouble. 
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I think it would be a much more vibrant place if COVID restrictions weren’t in place and would be a good place to stay if you want a convivial atmosphere. I’m quite the introvert and I appreciated that this was noticed and respected. 
Checking out was as simple as leaving the key on the reception desk and bidding them a fond farewell. I don’t like messy break ups. 
I’d stay at Central Guest House again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone who likes the traditional B&B experience.

I visited the first week post COVID-19 and I didn’t feel uneasy at all, they were attentive, welcoming hosts.

Lovely & clean!! John & Denise both very lovely people, easy to talk to, made conversation every time anyone went past. Very welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us! Breakfast was great, quiet area, easy access to Cardiff city also.

Great place

just a one night stay arriving tired and met by the couple who own the guest house. I immediately felt relaxed had a great shower and made a tea in the lounge. I sat outside  and was made to feel welcome as I had a chat with the owner. a good sleep with great views over the valley in the morning from my room. brekkie was spot on ,would definitely return and recommend. thank you . phil.

perfect for my needs

Instead of checking in to this B&B last week I found myself stuck on top of a mountain 10 miles away on a bank of snow and ice with wheels spinning and the wind howling around me in the darkness. I had come from America and been visiting a remote church as part of a family tree expedition. I phoned them to tell them of my alarming situation on the deserted pathway and they offered to come out to find me, bringing a tow rope and shovel. John and Denise saved me from a bitterly cold night spent alone in my car. 

My experience at the guest house for the next three days was fantastic. This couple is never satisfied with second best but they do everything with a calm and confident efficiency. John cooked me a full breakfast perfectly every day. My room was always kept clean and warm making it a wonderful moment to come home every evening.  In the mornings strong water pressure made showering a delight and I got some great advice on how to avoid Cardiff’s rush hour traffic too. 

Both sides of my family were based in the Rhondda Valley at different times so John’s stories about singer Tom Jones (a local lad) proved highly entertaining along with a display on the wall. 

This was Welsh hospitality at its best. Next time I hope to take my entire family to Wales and we will definitely all be staying here. I can’t say enough about this terrific couple and their enthusiasm for all their guests which I witnessed first hand. I personally owe them a great deal and will be forever grateful for their help during my stay in Wales.

Excellent stay

Had a recent stay. Really friendly and great value. Downside for me was no curtains so didnt sleep very well as any light will disturb me. Its fine if you are not a light sleeper. Breakfast was spot on room really clean. Note no tv in room you have to go in communal lounge. Not an issue for me though and great free wifi with good strength and no drop off. All in all v good but could be a 5 star review if it went for the curtains
