After great post-reservation correspondence and practical help in days leading up to our stay, we were warmly welcomed upon arrival by Harry, who enthusiastically made sure we were comfortable and oriented to our surroundings, and told how to best access places we needed to locate. 

The facilities were simple, but lovely, with lots of little touches, like dressing gowns in the en suite for our use, crisps, porridge pots (for warming in the morning) and various hot drink possibilities, including a cafetière to make a decent cup of coffee, a downstairs lounge for our use with coffee/hot chocolate machine, but which we hardly used due to the comfy arrangement we had upstairs with its gorgeous harbour and bay area views of Oban town centre and seaport. The guest house sits high above the town and has a great panoramic view without buildings in front to block that. Nice functional blinds were on the windows to black out the light for a good sleep, and yet were well out of the way when pulled up during the daytime.

Our room was comfortable, had two nice comfy chairs, and other adequate furniture in the room. There was a nice en suite with shower, wash-hand basin and loo. The room was very clean and the bed comfy with sheets that also smelled clean and fresh. An ample supply of pillows and warm duvet completed the necessary items for a great night’s sleep.

Warm welcome, clean and great views

I can't say enough good things about this beautiful guest house.  The views are absolutely spectacular from room 4 (twin room).  The beds are comfy and some light snacks are provided along with some instant oatmeal for breakfast.  There is coffee and tea (including a french press) in the room, and also a coffee pot with capsules down in the lounge.

The friendly host, Fiona, is the perfect combination of hands off and helpful.  You can check in starting at noon.  There is a welcome note on a chalkboard in the foyer with your name and room number, so you just head upstairs (one flight) and let yourself into your room (the key is hanging from the lock in your door). Once you are in the room you may never want to leave - it's incredibly difficult to tear yourself away from the views.

If you can, I'd recommend taking the ferry over to Mull and then the bus up to Tobermory.  The ferry ride itself is a lot of fun and you get some great scenery along the way.

What a view!

Highly recommended, nice, cosy, comfortable room with a fantastic view over the harbour, spotlessly clean, lovely friendly landlady, no breakfast but would stay here again. Easy access to walk down to the harbour, street parking.

Great place to stay

What you want from a guest house - a good bed, a good shower. Nice extras include gorgeous bedding, a few tasty little treats, comfy chairs, a view out to sea. Invercloy does all this. Brilliantly. Highly recommended.

A brilliant, welcoming guest house

Booked the Invercloy B&B for a 4 night break  based in Oban for my wife's 60th birthday and  was simply amazing. After a long drive from Newcastle via Loch Lomond which this time of year was stunning with the beautiful  Autumn colours. We arrived late afternoon and we were greeted by a friendly welcoming face Fiona who helped us too our room (2) which had spectacular unrestricted views right across the bay and beyond to The Isle of Mull. Fiona explained a few house rules and couldn't be more helpful with local restaurant recommendations and directions to Fort William / Isle of Mull  and things to see on route. It was so peaceful being out of season and tranquil for us to totly recharge our batteries and absorb the natural beauty  of Oban. The room was spotless with power shower and amazing organic soap and body lotions products  which I managed too purchase one or two items from the Scottish Highland  soap ( outlet down on the main street) company which Is totally organic and  made locally the bed very comfy with well stocked tea /  coffee tray with teacakes My wife had a lovely time spending her birthday here and those memories will remain forever. Thanks to Fiona who made us so welcome and allowed us to share her amazing home and we will definately return soon thank you Ken /  Kim 



Stunning friendly  cosy B&B in Oban 

This place is a screaming deal for the view and location. Fiona was wonderful. We were greeted with tea/coffee, chocolate cookies and crisps. Bed was comfy. View was spectacular and just steps away from everything. Dinner recommendation at the Fishouse was also spot on.

Look no further, great value and amazing location and view

Got stranded in the Isle of Arran with nowhere to spend the night, but Hillary and Ricardo saved the day by accommodating us and gave us recommendations of where to go out to. Great location and price! Comfortable bed and warm room.

Great welcome and hospitality

My first stay in Oban was completely perfect. Booked the double room with the view to Oban Bay which was the right decision.  In that guesthouse a breakfast is not possible, but there is a nice tea tray with coffee, tea, watercooker and porridge for self-service.  The room had a nice clean bathroom with a shower and wonderful products of "Highland Soap". Everything was really cozy and clean, the bed was also great with a nice little chocolate bar as a gift. The view from the room to the bay of Oban is really extraordinary nice. 
I'm disabled and so it was a bit difficult to get up the steps to the house but not too complicated. The way downtown is easy with the Jorma street to walk or with the stairs which must be taken carefully when it's raining or snowing. The way up was only with a taxi possible for me, but this I knew before, so no problem. Wonderful situated near to the McCaig's Tower from where the view to the bay is really amazing. 
Fiona, the owner, was really wonderful. She welcomed me with a big smile and gave me good advices for the house and the area around. I can give the best recommendations to the Invercloy Guesthouse and would love to return one day.

Views from rooms outstanding. Rooms well layed out and very clean. Well situated for harbour and resteraunts. With some nice lovely walks, we came from St Helens to Oban and could not of picked a better place to stay

Ivercloy guest house. Brilliant stay, highly recommended 

We stayed for two days, one was spent touring Mull, which is well worth the extra effort, but book the ferry early. Great views from the guest house, parking is interesting, but you're made to feel very welcome but the owner, who is just lovely. Lots of good restaurants and coffee shops near by (5 mins) ask the owner for recommendations. 
We had the front ensuite room with a great view of the bay. There are two soft chairs in the room looking out through the window, a definite red wine experience.
