Excellent location and excellent communication and service from the owner, room was emaculate and the bed was comfortable. Within walking distance to the beaches, shops and many restaurants in newquay. Will definitely be staying again.

Clean comfy and close to everything

We stayed at the end of October and the room was lovely, no sea view, but when you are only a 2 minutes walk away from Towan or great western beach,not a problem! The bathroom was clean and modern and because of the Covid restrictions, the bar wasn’t busy or noisy. Would stay again 

Excellent room and friendly service

I stayed here with 4 friends, we booked the three double rooms so had the place to ourselves. The accommodation was really good and very spacious with a wonderful common area/kitchenette with a large table we could all sit around. The bar downstairs was great with lots of tasty gin and run really well whilst coping with Covid restrictions. Thank you for a fabulous weekend.

Fabulous night in Newquay Gin Joint

Stayed here for my birthday celebrations with my partner. Paul the owner was very helpful and friendly and had excellent communication during uncertainty that came along with covid 19. Upon arrival we were greeted by Claire who had contacted us prior to our arrival to ensure we found the place okay and recommended the best place to park. As it was our first time visiting Newquay she recommended great spots for food and entertainment. The accommodation itself was lovely, very clean, cosy and comfortable. The location was second to none with a less than 5 min walk to the town and the beach. We would definitely recommend staying here!  Thank you 55 yards for a great birthday stay :-)

Amazing Stay!

Welcoming and friendly staff, great choice of drinks including their own gin made on the premises, great for families, couples, young and old. Popular with locals so you know or must be a great place. Range of games to play, regular quiz night, gin workshops and live music.

Fab place!

I have been in 55 Yards many times, and have finally got around to writing a review. 

There are a few bars in Newquay that are tucked away, and a bit of a hidden gem. But none are as good as 55. Paul (owner) is one of the most welcoming people i have ever met, and having managed bars for many years myself i have no problem admitting that he puts me to shame.

The drinks are always top quality, which again emphasises the passion and effort that comes from the person making them. On top of that there is also an onsite Gin distillery which not only looks awesome, but produces a unique and delicious tipple.

For entertainment you have Tom (the knowledge) doing regular quizs, jazz and vinyl nights, as well as various food and drink take over evenings throughout the year. 

If you are in Newquay and want a relaxed evening surrounded by good people and great drinks, then 55 Yards is definitely the place to go.

Best bar in Newquay

Totally found this place by chance an wasn’t it worth it. 

This place had a great vibe with chilled music and great atmosphere. A good selection of spirits wines and Prosecco. 

The service was excellent. The owner was very chatty and full of great local advice. Wish we found this place in the first night!! 

Best bar by far in Newquay 

Stayed here as we had a friends birthday party in town. Comms were great before arriving and the owner nice and friendly. The room we stayed in was superb, recently renovated it well finished and the bed super comfortable. We would have loved to go to the bar but didn’t get the chance; maybe next time! 
The room was really quiet, no town noise was a lovely surprise as we live on Dartmoor.

Great room in a great town

Absolutely loved this place, definitely the best bar in Newquay! A great selection of gin and a really nice chilled vibe. Another bonus was Archie the dog he was super friendly and a great host! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
