What a lovely find! Communication was friendly and clear before arrival. Room (Ty Coch) was spacious and the bed super comfy! Jason was very friendly and gave us plenty of ideas for our trips out. We stayed three nights and were able to really explore the area in that time. Location is great for Barmouth / snowden / Portmeirion. We had dinner recommendations from Jason and everywhere we ate was great. There were plenty of options for breakfast and we tried a few over our stay. Cooked to order and very tasty. The grounds were nice to relax in and watch the birds and drink a nice drink from the honesty bar. We enjoyed chats over breakfast with Jason around his passion for photography and nature. Overall a lovely relaxed stay and we would definitely come back if we were in the area.

Lovely stay! Would recommend! Friendly Owner!

Ours was a last minute booking due to a last minute decision to enter a race on the Welsh Coast, and despite needing an early breakfast Jason pulled out all the stops to ensure that our stay was comfortable and we got everything we needed. The full (fab, wanting for nothing) breakfast menu was on offer even though he was feeding us a good hour ahead of the official breakfast times. Unfortunately I could only have porridge due to me running but it was deliciously creamy. The bedrooms were extremely comfortable, clean,  warm and cosy - an absolute welcome in winter. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ty Derw and will definitely stay again, but this time for longer! Thank you Jason.

Our Stay Wasn't Long Enough

We stayed here from June 21st.
Everything from the location, the accommodation, the breakfast and the hosts Jill and Jason was perfect! My poached eggs for perfect, and the choice of food was amazing!!! 

Full of knowledge and a real great couple who accommodated our every need!

Sorry for the late review. 

Will visit again 2022.

An excellent B&B ! Perfect location for snowdonia sightseeing, great scenery and the Mach Loop flyovers. Wonderful Hosts, clean bedrooms with all the amenities you need. The house is full of amazing photographs taken by Jason. Great choices for breakfast (and plenty of it) cooked by Gill. The hosts are knowledgeable of the area; there are Maps and information booklets for guests too. 
Nothing is too much trouble!

Perfect location

A beautiful setting with lovely hosts.  Jason is so knowledgable about the area and can help ensure your days out meet your expectations.  Gill cooks a superb breakfast with specials changing daily.   The room was lovely and there was fresh milk for your tea, which I love.

Superb Ty Derw

Gill and Jason are fantastic hosts. Jason was always willing to suggest areas of interest to guests and helped them to benefit from his local knowledge. Gill's cooking was a marvel. For a vegan to go away from the place raving about the food is something of a luxury. 
Very accommodating, they were the perfect hosts.
The accommodation is spotless and very comfortable. Having arrived super-stressed, I left completely re-charged. I feel like I saw a fraction of the surrounding area which is a good excuse to go back!

An amazing place spotlessly clean rooms & are so beautifully decorated. 

The hosts Gill & Jason made and rescued our wonderful holiday nothing was an issue they were outstanding hosts.
Breakfast was delicious I'm a vegetarian and Gill made her very own Glamorgan veggie sausages they are delicious. 

Jason has so much knowledge of the area and provides some great ideas for your stay.

I highly recommend this beautiful retreat and happy hosts to anyone wanting to take time out to chill.

This is a delightful place to stay with lovely friendly hosts who contributed so much to our visit. It is spotlessly clean, pleasantly decorated, quiet and comfortable. The breakfasts were great and set us up for the day. A lovely touch was Gill’s homemade fudge on our arrival and amazing chocolate brownies. Nothing was too much trouble and we benefitted from Jason’s extensive local knowledge. We would happily stay here again.

A great find

We wanted a trip away from it all in the Welsh hills and we couldn’t have asked for more. This B and B is in an idyllic setting, with friendly owners and our room had a really comfy bed and power shower! The owners were so friendly and helpful with tips on local attractions. Jason is also a great photographer and gave my partner all the best tips of where to get a good shot! There are two pubs in walking distance, both of which were very nice. Breakfast was great and set us up for the day. We would stay again and recommend it to anyone wanting to explore such a beautiful part of Wales.

Wonderful stay

Gill and Jason – have a lovely characterful house which is a delight to share. As with all businesses they are having to adapt their normal service with Covid requirements, made more complicated as many visitors are from England and are not aware that Welsh legislation is different! Gill and Jason make it all very clear if you read their materials. Breakfast was huge whatever option you chose. Fresh milk for drinks in your room is a nice touch as was Gill helping us make a booking locally for an evening meal. Oh and by the way Gill makes the most amazing fudge ask her about it! The weather prevented the birds of prey being out but we were able to see them which was a lovely bonus.
