Clean, spacious and up to date with everything you'd need. Nice selection of tea, coffee and water, comfy bed and easy to book and find. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. Also had dinner which was really good.

Races

Stayed here over the weekend and have to say the place is lovely. We stayed in a room on a complex next to the farm shop and sandwich shop. 
The room was very clean and had everything in you needed for a relaxing stay.
The food in the pub restaurant was of a high standard, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.The breakfast was served in the Farmshop restaurant and was amazing.
This is a nice place, and if I was visiting Ludlow again I wouldn't hesitate in staying again.

Nice Hotel

Lovely hotel and restaurant. Very clean and all the facilities you would expect / need. The hand wash / shower gel etc were lovely. Comfy bed. Lovely staff. The only recommendation / suggestion I have is that fresh milk could be provided as there is a fridge already in the room. There is freshly ground  coffee and tea leaves etc provided but no fresh milk. The room is also a little bit too bright in the night ( I think a curtain is needed for the small window instead of the blinds) and the emergency exit light  is a little too bright ( but  I do realise that is important too).  Other than those very small issues it was a lovely stay, thank you.  5/5. 

Lovely 

Room was a great size and really clean and nice. The food was good and sensibly priced. Nice bar area for a chill out. The best of all were the staff who were really friendly and attentive. We would happily go back soon and happily recommend them

Excellent stay

We spent two nights here. We were pleasantly surprised to discover that this hotel was part of a larger farm complex owned by the Earl of Powis, which comprised a Farm Shop, an art gallery, an ice cream shop and a restaurant. We had a huge room upstairs with a well-appointed bathroom. The first night we ate in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed crab and spring onion croquettes to start accompanied by a glass of Champagne Veuve Lorinet NV, followed by ginger marinated cod fillet with a prawn spring roll, pak choy, sweetcorn and sugar snap peas, with a peanut butter and coconut dressing; and a beef burger on a brioche bun, with baby gem, tomato, smoked Applewood, bacon jam, fries, slaw and tomato and chili relish, accompanied by a bottle of Clos de la Roilette.  The following night, we bought some charcuterie from the Farm Shop and enjoyed that in our room. The breakfasts on both mornings were terrific, serving very generous servings of pancakes with berries and poached eggs on sourdough toast. We had very friendly and excellent service.

Very comfortable stay in a great farm complex!

Had a nice stay in February at the Clive arms in Bromfield  just outside Ludlow,arrived on a Sunday afternoon & was shown to the room just off a nice courtyard at the back of the inn ,the room was a fair size with everything you need the bed was big & very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, the restaurant was shut on Sunday & Monday evening so can’t comment on the food .if you want breakfast there is farm kitchen across the courtyard which was reasonably price. Ludlow was about 10 mins in the car away with plenty of places to eat. There are lots of places places to visit near by

Short Shropshire visit

We have stayed at The Clive lots of times in the past, but this was the first time since Covid. Initial impressions, the refurbishment was great, I love the new bar area, and the new hotel room was lovely. Bit disappointing that breakfast didn’t come with the room, but we worked it out. However the standard of meals has fallen quite a bit. We first stayed at The Clive when it was a restaurant with rooms. One of the best starters I ever had was at The Clive, crab, fennel and chilli salad, it was fresh and delicious. The current offerings are average to good, I don’t really expect burgers and fish n chips on an evening menu. Maybe I should lower my expectations of a restaurant with rooms now.

Goodoverall

Met up with some friends for an afternoon tea. Very friendly professional staff. Slightly disappointed with some of the sandwiches, not everyone likes mustard on a ham sandwich. I think it should have been served separately if wanted. Had to ask for second side plate, as did not want to eat cakes on same plate as tuna/ egg etc. The staff brought them, no problem, but I feel they should have already been on the table.

Afternoon tea

We went on the 4th December to the Clive arms for a roast dinner and we will 100% be returning, all the staff made us feel so comfortable due to a member in the family needing to be away from other people they situated us in a private room which was lovely! The food was delicious and we will recommend to others! 
We look forward to coming back!

Birthday Celebration

My wife stayed at 'The Clive Arms' for two nights at the end of September 2022.  Having previously stayed at the hotel we found nothing much had changed other than having to have breakfast at the farm kitchen situated at the rear of the hotel. Our room situated in the courtyard was very comfortable, clean and spacous.
We had an excellent evening meal in the hotel restruant.
Staff in both the restraunt were both pleasant and helpful.
We would have no hesitation in staying at the hotel in the future.
