We just spent three nights here and were impressed. It was a huge space, including a kitchen with stove and microwave and a small fridge. We were able to spread out with our suitcases and organize for our return trip home.   ok views from our 6th floor room. Windows were operable so could get good air flow; nice sunlight coming in.
Private bathroom; comfortable bed with ample closets. 

There were some noise issues, but nothing that kept us from sleeping. The elevator is the smallest one I have ever experienced. We took separate trips to get our luggage to the ground floor.

Brunch was extremely ample--lots of choices and tasty. But the noise in the cafeteria area was extreme and we left as quickly as we could. They could use some sound-deadening material in the ceiling and walls.

It was a very secure venue, as the manager had to buzz you in. It felt very safe.

WIFI was available in the room, once we asked for and received our password for our particular room.

All in all, an amazing value for London and close to transportation and restaurants. We would definitely come here again.



good value; excellent location; spacious; economical

After many trips to London, my conclusion is that you probably cannot expect better in London than this for the exceptionally reasonable cost.  Despite a few issues, the place was a huge bargain.  However, I am undecided if I would stay there again.  

Pros:
1.  Price is extremely low for London;
2.  Rooms are fairly large and include a fairly large bathroom with a bathtub within the room;
3.  The location is within walking distance of Paddington Station, where you may catch the Heathrow Express train and also the tube;
4.  The full English breakfast was exceedingly generous; 
5.  24/7 front desk provides security as far as limiting entry to the premises;
6.  Friendly, helpful staff.

Cons:
1.  The rooms have no air conditioning.  This is normally not a problem in London, but with climate change, it is becoming a problem.  I arrived on one of the hottest days ever recorded in London history at the end of July.  The weather remained very hot and humid the several days I was there.  Even with the window open, the room was pretty much unbearable.  Additionally, a lot of street noises came in when the windows were opened.
2.  The rooms are utilitarian at best, although they did have a lot of closet space and outlets.  You really cannot expect more for the price.
3.  The surrounding area was jam-packed with tourists and kind of grungy.  Outside of the square where the Penson Hall is located, the area is not that pretty.  I did not feel particularly safe around there because tons of so many tourists very heavily concentrated in one spot tend to attract crime.
4.  An extended check-out time could not be had, although they allowed me to store my bags there until I needed to leave.
5.  Loud, noisy, rude people tended to congregate on the front steps.  They would not let move to you through to the door.
6.  There was no way to enter the premises without a person at the interior front desk seeing you and releasing the lock.  Sometimes, there was no one at the desk, even at night, and you just had to wait to enter.  Being locked out and waiting around like that creates potential personal safety issues.
 
Overall, it's an incredible bargain for London if you can deal with the cons of staying at this place.  The issue that would be a dealbreaker for me in the future is my dislike for the neighborhood, despite it being conveniently close to Paddington Station.

A Rare Bargain for London If You Don't Mind a Few Issues

There was plenty of room for one person in single room and there’s a lot of storage space to put your clothes and other stuff in. The shower seemed newly renovated and worked great. No lack of water pressure here! There was even decent shampoo and body wash available. Towels were also in great condition and there are slippers too. There’s no TV but who needs that in London anyway. Besides the WiFi was better than most places (in my room anyway) so I had no problem using various streaming services. I found the breakfast to be pretty excellent for a budget lodging (in fact it was probably the best I’ve had in London) but it wasn’t served until 08:00 AM so sadly I missed it one morning.

My room was somewhat noisy occasionally as it was right next to a small street but it wasn’t too bad during nighttime and there wasn't really any traffic at all. The bed was a bit too hard for my liking. There's no safe in the room which is understandable as these are not really hotel rooms.

It’s very hard to find a cheaper single room in central London with a private bathroom and great breakfast included so I would definitely consider staying here again even with above mentioned minor flaws. One suggestion though: It would make much better impression if the stained carpeting was changed or removed altogether from the rooms.

Money well spent

I stayed here as a student and also got a room for my parents. The rates were best here.Its located in central London and close to Hyde park , Paddington rail station. There is no room service you take care of the room and refrigerators are in the hallways they are shared.

Best place in London for students

Stayed here for two nights. Basic roomy accommodation with a private bathroom, breakfast included and a few minutes walk from Paddington rail station. The student accommodation overlooks a delightful park. My room had a great view but other rooms on the opposite side would face the backs of buildings. There is a simple kitchen on each floor with kettle, microwave and a fridge. Limited chinaware but certainly a bonus feature. 
As I was travelling alone I was very happy with the 24 hours security at the door. This place is tired and certainly in need of a revamp. However it was clean, lovely soft towels, roomy and the breakfast was a bonus. The breakfast was cafeteria style but with a huge choice to suit everyone. There are also muffins, pastries, and a coffee machine as a bonus.
Would certainly stay here again in expensive London. Great value at under AUD $100 per night. 

Good, No Frills, budget accommodation in London

I stayed here for 3 nights with my sister in late December and we were very pleased. The student apartment was incredibly spacious and excellent value for the price (which also included breakfast for two). All of the staff were very helpful and kind and one couldn't ask for a better location (right next to Paddington).  I hesitate to even post this review as this may be one of the best-kept accommodation secrets in London!
