Stayed at this hotel for a night while attending a family event nearby.  The price was very good and the room was comfortable and clean.  

Also, had a meal in the evening and food was lovely and good value for money.

Found every one at the hotel/pub very helpful and friendly and also provided us with a phone number and telephone to book a taxi (phone signal and Wi-Fi a bit spotty in this area)

If I was back down in this area again I would definitely stay here again

Great price and comfortable rooms

Once again, an outstanding lunch, in addition to the regular menu there were numerous fresh fish options. The halibut being an option taken; very good.... Great service and atmosphere. Will be returning for sure: Thank You...

Saturday Lunch

Best food out of all the 3 pubs on this road. The pies are wonderful .  The service by Jamie was fantastic and I would highly recommend! 
Thank you for a wonderful afternoon- clean and friendly pub with nice outdoor space too.

Amazing service and good!

Booked in advance for the 13-03-2022, always a good plan... We were running late and phoned to advise. We arrived around 14:30 and in my experience not a good time as it is near end of session and Sundays are always a busy day for any establishment. However not a problem! 

We were welcomed with very friendly, helpful and engaging staff. This is a Pub/Restaurant but a genuine old style one where you are made to feel welcome and treated as a person and not just another customer. 

Regarding the food: I had the Lamb Shank and my partner had the Roast Beef. Both of which were outstanding! The Roast Potatoes being of particular note. My Lamb fell off the bone and was cooked perfectly, as was the Roast Beef.

Excellent, genuine cooked in house food. Would highly recommend...

Outstanding Sunday Roast!

From the moment we arrived we (3 adults and a large dog) we were made to feel very welcome. The lady serving asked us if we wanted food as well as a drink and took us to a cosy seat near the real fire as we were going to order some food. 

She then got our dog some water and treats. She was so good that I assumed (wrongly) that she was the landlady.

We duly ordered our food at the table and all three dishes were excellent. I can highly recommend this pub based on fantastic hospitality alone, but add great food and drink to that and it was a brilliant find. In a nutshell, a great pub with good old fashioned  service with a friendly bunch of locals. We will be back very soon 

I wish all pubs got it this right. Excellent! 

Lovely evening spent at the Darnley Arms in Cobham. Our running club does a pub run every Thursday throughout the summer and tonight we ran from the Darnley Arms out to the Mausoleum and back. On our return the barmaid served us all with a smile and in super quick speed, then the landlord supplied us with free chips & scampi which is a first for us and was thoroughly appreciated. We will definitely be returning next year to this great village pub 

Harvel Harriers pub run 

I came here after being extremely let down by The ship (also in Cobham) because of the staffs rudeness.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE AND FOOD! 
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate for us. My friend is vegan and unfortunately they didn’t have any dish specifically vegan on their menu however the chef kindly said she could adapt and make a dish for her. The food was delicious and very fresh! My friends who had come down from Canterbury said it’s the best food they’d had in ages. The staff themselves were incredibly friendly and made our night very enjoyable. 
I will definitely be coming back here!
Thank-you again to the staff for going above and beyond for us.

If you are looking for a home cooked meal, in a lovely environment we highly recommend The Darnley Arms...  Really enjoyable home cooked meal... 
Family feel, very friendly and you'll leave with your belly full.

Lovely, friendly, traditional pub lunch

We had two rooms as my sister and I were accompanying our elderly father on a nostalgic trip to his old teenage and adult haunts. Both rooms were very clean, comfortable and pleasant. My elderly father was very comfortable, he was pleased that the shower was large and walk in. Very warm welcome from the owner. Great local village pub. Very good value for money.

Excellent base for our trip

In need of a lick of paint and some better lighting to brighten it up a touch.

Reasonable choice of real ales including Iron Pier but were not the best, maybe because they were not very popular or possibly not well kept.

Food was good and wholesome , not too fancy but enjoyable.

Overall experience was ok but the decor and the choice of real ales definitely let it down, would be worth consulting a real ale drinker in future not just plumping for a look or a name. Iron Pier are known for having some really great real ales just a shame they weren't on tap on the day.
