Stayed at hotel for 8 days. Comfortable, modern room and modern toilet and shower. 
Great having a fridge. Forks in rooms. 
Helpful staff and caring attitude.  Any requests made.  Nice quiet area. Local restaurants near by which was useful.

Comfy stay at hotel

On arrival we called for the access code which was provided straight away, and we found the room easily enough, there is a loft which was fantatsic.
The room was lovely a really good size for me and my sister, all clean and tidy. the beds comfy so managed to sleep well.
Bad bits but not the fault of the owners.
1st night we were kept up by a group of young lads banging doors and making general noise.

2nd night the fire alarm went off at 12.30pm so was outside waiting for the fire brigade to arrive and give the all clear, luckily that didn't take too long but again this was down to the group of young lads as we heard them mention and laugh about the fact they had done it.

But all in all the location was fab, rooms were great and there is plenty of amenities near by.

The rooms have a fridge, kettle and microwave with plates and cutlery and a few coffee and tea bits.

We would definitely recommend the property and would also stay again.

Scottish Wedding stay over

no human presence. when arrived, code given
would not allow us into room. phoned number
given which was answer machine, after 10
mins standing out in corridor went to find
someone to help, no one available. phoned
again got Anna, gave different code, didn't
work. moved us to other room. when got in
new room, no bedding, no towels etc. phoned
again, left message. no one called back after
15 mins so had to phone again, Anna had not
heard message left! moved again to another
room. thankfully all ok this time. shame
though, wasted half an hour standing around!!!

No customer service

Unfortunately this hotel is situated between two pubs so the noise late in the night is just as you can imagine. The corridor doors are constantly slamming shut. A lot of people haven’t been raised with the most basic of manners. Really need to put some slow closers on those doors. This has put us off ever staying again even though it’s right in our families doorstep. 
Warning : the lift is out of order and it’s not being fixed anytime soon. Our room was on the third floor.

So noisy

Not impressed with the customer service.  I booked this hotel for our honeymoon  close to Edinburgh but far enough away so that we didn't have to travel in if we didn't want to.  Due to a back injury dates had to be changed and we could only stay for 3 nights instead of 5. Money was taken from my account 3 times, for the first booking, for the amended dates and again for the amended dates, I have chased this several times.  The day before we were meant to stay the hotel then rings and cancels the booking!  They still have almost £600 of my money and I'm STILL waiting for the refund!  We also couldn't book anywhere else due to all the funds being tied up here.   Really not happy!

Didn't even get to stay!

We stayed a week in a upon arrival spotlessly clean room but not once did the 4 towels you have got were changed nor the bed linen. Heating showed issues which resulted in a very hot room. We did not get a keycode to access the property and had to call. After 4 days Internet access was cut off and it took us three days to convince them they had to reset the system, had to send them pictures of the system failure which was answered by giving us the password we already received on the 1st day. Then they offered a room change on the last day as the room next door, they said, did have Internet access! We're talking WiFi here. One room has WiFi and the other one does not. What a joke. Communication with responsible persons is extremely difficult as there is no staff at hand. To solve the problem we made several calls, wrote several e-mails, and sent several screenshots. As the hotel sits above a restaurant and a bar the building suffers kitchen smells.

No Internet in smelly hotel

We arrived Hotel no keycode given then took 30 minutes for them to answer phone Donna who we were talking too was totally useless when we did get code for front door and given room number which was same as front door code we went into the room and there was someone in the bed “What A Shock” apolagised to the gentleman we closed the door called back to number given and it took them over 30 minutes again to call back with another code, we felt so uncomfortable what had happened we have now booked into another hotel, surely in this day and age things should not happen like this if we can get into someone else's room with a code given by hotel would anyone feel safe I would recommend when booking this hotel to get a guarantee that the codes your receive are exclusive to you “WHAT A SHAMBLES”

What a Shambles

Well Appointed location with good variety of eateries in the same road, walking distance.  The Room: modern & superbly finished decor. Large Screen TV with Loads of Channels. I had a room at the front with Great view across the street to St David's Church, beautiful view. Tea & Coffee facility; Fridge & Microwave. Nice complementary toiletries, Yes Whow! Brilliant accommodation.
Note: Worth checking local parking times for your stay, as there is none with the hotel. I parked overnight on street outside the front door = Free Parking!

Whow! Just stayed at the Dalkeith Hotel; Great Experience, Room spotless

Hi Guys 
As far as Iam aware this Hotel (which is a 5min walk from my house) Closed in 2016  to be converted in to apartments  (The 70 bedrooms)
so don't really understand why it's still on booking sites but as you Will notice no dates are available in the reservations box for any time of any month
The ground floor  bar and restaurant have been re opened by a company called Bonfire
They do fairly cheap menus 
I have never been so can't comment on quality ect
From the outside menus are clearly advertised
In the nice weather there are table and chairs outside
Looks pleasant enough
I'm going to answer all the other questions as not sure because Hotel definitely doesn't exist now

This hotel closed in 2016

We went down to North Berwick for an overnight stay and booked into the County hotel . The hotel was clean warm and friendly . However their was one or two thing that could have made our stay even better.
1/ We had to ask about the link to the net
2/ Information regarding how the shower and TV worked would have been helpful.
3/ The breakfast was  some  thing else. The full English breakfast was cold. Toast and fruit juice came last and we had to ask for butter.
Over all disappointing as this Hotel could be really good if they paid attention to the basics
