We stayed there to do the Tree Castles walk and were fed and watered well. They arranged lifts to the start and finish of the walk and pack lunch which was lovely. Comfortable beds with amazing view across fields and a cooked breakfast served by the hosts.

What an amazing place. A hidden gem we had a great time what beautifull views and beautifull building clean room all the amenities perfect. Thank you to the team we had an amazing time staying in this beautifull place. We will definitely come back.

Found this hotel and had to return again. Warm greeting, nice evening meal freshly prepared and great Welsh breakfast. 
Room 20 was comfortable and was perfect for doing some email catching up. FIRST TIME EVER I have stayed in a hotel which let me cast from You Tube directly from my iPhone. Brilliant. I shall return.

Beautiful retreat in the heart of Wales. The Old Rectory is excellent value for money. Our room was spotlessly clean, lovely and warm, and had tea/coffee making facilities.
The meals are served in a bright and spacious conservatory and the food is excellent. Highly recommend the duck and the tenderloin of pork. The Old Rectory is ideally based for visits to Abergavenny, Crickhowell and Usk. Many people staying in the hotel were dog walkers, hikers or people like us who just wanted to stroll and explore the nearby towns. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a comfortable bar to have drinks in the evening. Highly recommended!

We stayed overnight with our dog. Had a superb evening meal, staff were all lovely and surrounding scenery beautiful. Land at the back was safe to let our dog off for a run. Breakfast was good and the dog got a treat too! If you  don’t have a dog don’t worry you get your own space

Stayed for a night in The Beautiful Old Rectory Hotel in Llangattock in January, the location is absolutely perfect  with wonderful walks and a canal on the doorstep. The manager Patrick and his team really work hard and are very friendly and welcoming .  Our room was decorated tastefully and beds were very comfortable.  Breakfast  was of an excellent quality and cooked to perfection . We also stayed for Sunday lunch and can honestly say it was absolutely delicious,  cant recommend this hotel and the team enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

A stunning location nestled in between the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. So such to see and do in the local area. The hotel has huge grounds to wander and explore, the Brecon Canal is also a lovely walk nearby.

The hotel is beautiful, with a lovely country feel, well decorated and very clean!! Hygiene is very important to us and this ticked all the boxes.. The manager Pat and his staff really know how to look after their guests and made us feel as though we were part of his family, thank you.

The food was amazing and the portions were on the very generous side, although make sure you leave some room for the delicious desserts...  

I've spent the majority of my life travelling the world with work, experiencing many "luxurious hotels" in many countries. However give me a weekend at any UK country hotel any day.. This one ticked all my boxes, well done...

We have recently returned from a wonderful night stay at The Old Rectory. The location was perfect being just outside the charming Welsh billage of Crickhowell. This was our first time staying at this hotel.
We found the staff very helpful and welcoming on arrival. We were able to leave our cars there all day before we checked in at 4pm.
The hotel is perfect for people wanting to stay with their dogs, which are aloud everywhere apart from the restaurant.
We were delighted to be upgraded to a fabulous Superior Suite which was very large and extremely comfortable complete with a large and stylish bathroom furnished with walk-in shower and a very large jacuzzi bath! Perfect after a long day walking in the surrounding hills. 
The lawns were extensive with views of table mountain and the Black Hills. You can easily access the canal path from the hotel grounds too. Our evening meal was lovely with attentive service. Although located in the bar to accommodate the dogs this did not effect our overall enjoyment.
Breakfast was wonderful and freshly made with great attention to detail. There was everything you could ask for from pastries, toast and English muffins, fresh fruit, ample selection of cereals.  Hot option too which consisted of full English and Welsh selection, has browns , choice of eggs, black pudding. 
Based on previous reviews we had reservations about what to expect however, do not be put off from staying in this hidden gem. We will definitely be returning, we did not want to leave! Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful stay.

Stayed here for 3 nights,as we were having a wedding here,The grounds and location are stunning,The staff are so helpful and friendly especially Jack,, Rooms were very spacious and  had superb views,,Food is excellent, Lovely friendly Bar ,The beer garden was stunning with views to die for, overall what a great hotel ,such character in the building ,

Stayed for two nights to do some walking in the Black Mountains. The location is brilliant with so much to see and do in the local area and was an excellent base for our walks. The hotel has plenty of character whilst being clean and comfortable. The staff were all excellent - very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very good with plenty of options available. The bar was very pleasant with some well kept local ales with the restaurant serving well presented and tasty food. This hotel makes an excellent base for exploring the local area or just having a look around the lovely Crickhowell which is in easy walking distance. I'd be more than happy to stay again.

Beautiful retreat in a wonderful setting

Pretty good breakfast, quite exotic choice with salmon on the menu.
Good service with lovely staff. They would bend backwards to help or be supportive.

The room plus having the dogs was cramped and couldn’t swing a cat in it.  
This was a challenge especially when we had a leak on the bike trailer and somehow had to dry things for them.  We threw some dog bedding away and the reception staff found some old pillows to make the dogs comfy again.  So the staff were brilliant.
After the time ran out on the last morning they allowed us to stay in the lounge to wait out the rain, so getting away in the dry.

The breakfast was very good catering for every person, with a wide range of choices. This hotel set in the beautiful Welsh countryside. Would highly recommend this hotel .

You will find this gem in a secluded village. Warm welcome, the room was clean and tidy, the view was amazing. Was welcomed at breakfast, and was promptly served coffee. My breakfast order was done to perfection, thank you. Would highly recommend.
