A fantastic long camping trip, on a very peaceful site with friendly staff and good facilities.

We stayed here for 6 nights this August, and had plenty to do out and about, but the site was always a good place to come back too, clean and quiet. The bar with pool tables was welcome as well.

Fantastic campsite

We absolutely loved our camping trip here. The site is tranquil and beautiful, facilities clean and the resident peacocks cheeky and entertaining!
The pool was a real bonus and nice to have an onsite bar.
We will most definitely be back, great value too.

Weekend camping

We've just come back from a lovely 3 days camping with our family. The facilities are exactly what you need, and kept clean throughout the day. Lovely field, our children really enjoyed all the bunnies that come out first thing. The ladies who own it are fabulous, our little girl was travel sick on the way down and they washed and dried her clothes for us. Great location, plenty of shops around. We'd come back any time!

Lovely for families

Don’t want to overpraise Lanarth too much because when re-booking we will never be able to get in when we want to!
PS speed hump nearest the gate needs lowering 😂
And peacocks stole my dogs dinner ha ha ha

Home from home

We are camping last day tomorrow we extended our booking. This is such a lovely place very friendly great bar also.
We are here in low season so we could travel to see things without being extra busy  nothing is too much trouble for these lovely people. The peacocks and peahens are so lovely and friendly they are roaming around freely u like this very much.
The site has a hotel also, there is a very clean toilet and shower block with running hot water after a day out is welcoming for sure. Keep up the good work Steve thank you again we will be back.

A beautiful place to stay. We were camping with electric hook up.

Can't speak highly enough of this place. We camped for 2 weeks and found the site to be above what we expected considering the price. The owner was so helpful and friendly and really couldn't do enough for us. The pitch was a very good size and the site is nice a peaceful. The facilities were cleaned daily and in a good state of repair. The location of the site is perfect and close enough to Newquay, Bodmin etc to make daily excursions a very viable option. Plenty of nature and wildlife around from peacocks, owls, buzzards, kestrels,badgers and foxes to newts, toads and I'm sure much more we didn't see. 

If you want 5 star accomodations then this isn't for you but if you want a good clean family friendly site run by good hardworking honest people then you will probably struggle to find better.

Really enjoyed our stay and will be returning next year

Superb site

This airb&b house was not the same as how it was pictured on the airb&b site, the decor of the window dressing which didn’t cover the angled top window, would show light in the morning. The bedding was dusty to touch and had suspicious stains on. The railing was unsafe and the top handle came of in my boyfriend’s hand which could have resulted in him falling down the suspected homemade ladder. 

The sofa/bed had a large stain the centre, we were told by the hosts that there was nothing they can do about stains as people eat here, this could definitely be cleaned if they cleaned anything at all. 

The doorstep was covered in mould and damp Because “people step on that”. The host said that the mould and damp wasn’t caused by the door being poorly fitted but was from where people had been stepping on the doorstep/ threshold. This was a safety hazard as my boyfriend has asthma and I have a black mould allergy. 

Stay here if you like sleeping in dirty sheets- “that’s just a bio pod that’s not fully dissolved in the wash”. 

Disgustingly dirty - we refused to stay

This place hugely exceeded our expectations, we were made to feel so welcome, the owner is so lovely and kind. The place is so nice, has everything you can need, yes the pool is cold but kids really don't seem to care at all once theyre in! 
i would highly recommend this place to all my friends, and i usually hate camping, but i already cannot wait to go back here. Shower and  toilet blocks were kept so clean and well stocked of toilet roll, the pub onsite is just perfect, great atmosphere and everyone gets on so well. 
The peacocks roaming around the site was just lovely, although im not sure they felt the same about my daughter, sorry! 
All in all, a perfect place to unplug and unwind!

I am now a camping convert!

We booked a week here at the end of the June and had such high expectations having seen the photos and reviews. 

Unfortunately for us , it didn't live up quite to those expectations. We had seen the photos of the pitches and were so disappointed to be allocated effectively a choice of three spaces away from the fields due to rain, yet other campervan and caravans where pitched on fields and also those arriving after us were on the fields. Each had quirks , ie not level , literally a drive of gravel facing the main house, which we took , or another track drive close to another campervan

It really felt like we were on a gravel driveway of the house, our view was the main house and the chalet type accommodation, close to another motorhome 

After a day trip out, we found our electric hook up had been taken  out and now our nearest point a fair distance away, luckily we have a long lead. 

In 45 years of camping UK and continent , the first time ever we needed to take our own loo roll ! Not overly clean facilities , which isn't the owners fault to be honest , just inconsiderate fellow campers. The shower was ok, again tired but warm. No where to hang your stuff to keep dry. Surely hooks on the doors wouldn't be too much to ask 

We went in June , Covid restrictions in place but no masks were worn and no hand sanitiser / soap supplied  or dryers for hands available. 

The ladies loo were really tired as was the shower , yet husband said men's was ok 

I felt the owner didn't really make an effort with us despite us being there awhile week, he had said he would move us mid week but didn't , small things like that mattered to us . I know we could of asked , but being out exploring all day time we got back or in the morning there wasn't any sign of anyone in the office and felt we didn't want to make a huge issue of chasing anyone down  . At the end of the day it was ok , but not great and I cant say we would return which is a shame as location is excellent 

Location is superb, central for all the main attractions Cornwall has to offer . Half an hour to forty minutes to most of the key areas, Tintagel , Padstowe, Port Isaac , Camel trail. Superb and that really was the saving grace. Half an hour from the town of Wadebridge and huge Tesco for supplies. 

One thing to be aware of , if you love Peacocks happy days. For us near the main house , nightmare , all day and night crowing or whatever the official name is for peacock noises. All through the night..... 

Shame as I say as had high hopes

Excellent location but....

What a gem of a find this was. After deciding to do a staycation this year. We booked 3 nights here as a random find. I’ve got to say it was fantastic. Before I’d even checked in we bumped into a lovely lady called jan (who is part of the family that it belongs to) and had such a lovely chat we felt so welcome immediately. The whole place had such a warm feel to it. It’s so nice to have the peacocks wandering around. The bar is a lovely little place to drop in in the evening. Pool tables and air hockey were a big hit with the kids. As from my 8 year olds mouth the showers are amazing and he didn’t want to get out. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful family run camp site.
