Square Tree House

Our third visit - we are so comfortable here and love the location. It’s just outside the city centre but an easy bus or taxi ride to the station or shopping. John and Frances are charming hosts and they really look after you. The room we stayed in was spacious and furnished with one of a kind pieces, mainly mid century modern. The bathroom has everything you need and the bed is comfortable and made with high quality linens. My husband had a ticket to the Liverpool match at Anfield so I decided to come with him and make a weekend of it. Before the game we enjoyed a walk in nearby Sefton Park where we visited the magnificent Palm House, and a stroll along the hip and happening Lark Lane - so many attractive bars, restaurants and cafes. The next day we visited the Walker Art Gallery and had a delicious dinner at Belzan (as suggested by John and Frances). You can’t go wrong following their recommendations — starting with John’s cute and useful hand-drawn map. Which is how we discovered the Queens Arms a friendly pub just down the road from the hotel where we wrapped up our weekend.
