Great rooms good location for town centre and Bicester village on site parking

One night stay

This is a great old place and is obviously tired in places but if you want a good nights sleep then don’t choose a hotel on the main square Lots of noise and lightNo breakfast service dispute being on the booking ?? Only informed upon arrival

This small town inn is rather run down. We can only comment fully on our room. The room was on the second floor and was spacious and airy - unfortunately it is in need of repair to the point of possible being unsafe. The window frames are rotten, that in the bathroom having lost its bottom right corner. All the windows can be opened fully to an extent that is dangerous for children and the sashes are broken - so the windows do not stay open unless propped. The tiles on the bathroom floor are broken and loose and my wife hurt her foot on some broken edges. We complained about this and the hotel effected a minimal repair of the worst area - though many more tiles were loose. In general the room was grubby, though to be fair it is so large and the general condition with broken skirtings and redundant, former central heating pipes would make a thorough cleaning difficult. There is a hatch in the bathroom ceiling the wooden surround of which is brown with dirt.The exterior of the property is very tatty. The window frames are in sadly need of attention and there is unfinished demolition work in the car park at the rear. I am sorry to be so critical but our room in this hotel was over £100 a night which made it poor value for money. The public areas were cleaner and smart and the general decrepitude of the building was not so evident. An additional issue was that our daughters camp bed had a duvet without a cover.

It was exactly what we needed a stop gap between trips. Nice little pub would stay again

Nice enough place and was fine for one night. Customer service and welcome could have been a bit friendlier as it didn’t feel like I was welcomed. Nice furniature in the room to go with the building and comfy bed but work needs to be done to the room. My room had very bad TV reception, a broken window letting a bad draft in and a leaking tap. Things like power switches needed fixing and a better clean of smaller areas would make the place much nicer as there were stains on the floor. Still worth it for one night and well situated in the town. Very reasonable for the price

Nice enough place and reasonably priced

Was looking forward to my stay in the heart of my hometown.  Room spacious clean, but was like a sauna when i walked in. Had to leave the window propped open to let the heat out and some air in. Even the complementary water bottles tasted like warm tap water.  Very comfy bed and good  nights sleep. However, i was staying there are a group of friends choose this hotel for christmas dinner get together. They said we needed to pay for the food, which we had paid in advance, the friend who booked it showed the paynent from her account. Only to be told point blank, well we dont have it in our accout. No, oh im sorry but there is/was an issue with paynent, just you have to pay again and sort it out your end. She said if you leave without paying the money will be docked from our wages!! When asked so what next then, just more almost aggressive  you have to pay with no work or effort or appology to solve the solution their end. She was very demeaning to staff in front of customers also. A little more emotional intellegence or customer service training required for the manager i think! Oh and to top it off, went down for breakfast to be told there is none!! No notice anywhere to say they were not serving. So packed and got out of dodge.....  previous stats there never a problem.

Disapointed, expensive but not fully delivered

Towel was not properly wash . Soiled stain!!! Reported it.

Property is run down. Had one window pane missing covered by a sign that said "do not open window".Carpet was stained.Staff were ok. Location was ok.
