Well, I wasn’t going to bother with a review as the property has been sold and found out this morning on checkout that we were the 2nd to last guests. 
Well, that is disappointing for anyone visiting the area. Lovely guesthouse, lovely room, great location, FANTASTIC breakfast. 
Best Sausage and Bacon ever. Martin was very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and in a lovely location. The room was well equipped and well thought about in terms of layout and facilities.

1 night stay, 2nd from last guests as premises now sold.

Lovely overnight stay in the HUGE 2 bed apartment which was bigger than my home, couldn't fault the welcome we received, the price I paid, (which my sister constantly guessed as much higher as  she tried to get it out of me to share the cost), or the facility's.  We didn't use the kitchen, but there was all you could need for a weeks stay or more self catering, bathroom lovely, beds comfy.  I would just say that the road to the front is noisy, so if you are looking to stay here, make sure the room was at the back overlooking the lovely big garden and view of the Downs it is named after.  If I was being picky, the sofa cover could do with changing (looked a bit stained) or a throw chucking over it and it was a bit cobwebby, but it's in the country, so the appear as fast as you clear them in my experience.

Overnight stay in the apartment

The first impression of the guesthouse was great what a lovely place off the beaten path we discovered . The exterior driveway was clean , flower beds well looked after , a manicured grassy rear garden. We were welcomed by Sue and Martin the owners who took us thru the different areas including a well stocked pantry for tea coffee etc. They brought us over to our allotted family room and explained about the different amenities etc. Our night stay was pleasant except  for the  rather soft .the breakfast next morning was served to us on the table ( following Covid protocols seating was spread out). The home cooked ham and local  honey that accompanied the bread was a pleasant surprise !

Weekend stay

A friendly, spotlessly clean place to stay. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful. Positioned just outside Ashford, this is an ideal base to see the Garden of England. I would recommend Downsview to anyone. Our room overlooked the huge garden which guests can enjoy. The bed was very large and extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were great too.

A superb place to stay

I had a issue with the heating and the lady was really nice and helpful lovely lady. Then about 12.45 while having a shower the electricity went pitch black I had to get put the shower and find my way out the room in a towel to find someone.  After ringing the bell someone finally come I told them the issue and he was so rude telling me to put my mask on in the pitch dark I didn't know where it was. Finally I got power he returned to be even more rude telling me how long I had been in the shower and how he don't care while rudely telling me the time and that he was in bed. Not once did I get a sorry. I could of easily slipped getting out the shower or hurt myself navigating my way in the dark a sorry wold of went a long long way so if you do stay hear don't wake shrek up after 12

Rude

Last minute booking, we arrived late at night and were welcomed by Yvonne, and made to feel at home. The room was wonderful, spacious, clean and very relaxing with lovely decor.
Tea and coffee in the room which was great for our travel mugs the next morning, after our good nights sleep in our very quiet room.

Great stop over

Stayed here 2 nights in total whilst waiting for my vehicle to be repaired. Superb hosts. Always friendly and accommodating. Rooms well presented and spotlessly clean. Good free WiFi connection.Next to the dining room is a kitchen, fridge and kettle for use by guests. Was even able to use the dining room for my takeaway evening meal.
All Covid rules and cleaning are strictly & thoroughly adhered to. Happily recommend to anybody considering a couple of days for either leisure & business. 

Superb stopover

Chose the Downsview guesthouse for it's closeness to the Channel Tunnel, for our return home. We only stayed for one night, but from start to finish, it was absolutely smashing. The staff were very friendly and always happy and smiling, even in the times of Covid. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with everything a person needs, inc. free Wifi. There is a small bar in the hotel if needed. The breakfast was superb and definitely set us up for our return trip.

Would definitely stay here again!

A lovely last night in England

I had occasion to hire a room just for the day and was so fortunate to select Downsview Guesthouse as I don’t know Ashford at all.  The room, facilities and grounds (including ample parking) are all lovely!  I felt so relaxed, and my only regret was not being able to stay overnight, but judging by the breakfast room I’m sure their breakfasts are good as well - I’ll be back to check soon I hope!

Delightful room and view and grounds

Hugely grateful to Martin and Sue for providing accommodation to our wedding guests in September.  They ensured guests could all eat breakfast safely in a COVID-secure dining room and had plenty of outdoor space for children to play, with amazing views over the South Downs.  Everyone enjoyed their comfortable en-suite rooms and delicious breakfasts.  Martin and Sue balanced the need for safety and social distancing with the joy of the celebration.  Thank you Martin and Sue!
