Mono Hostel

I loved the location of this hostel in Shilin area, close to nature and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. From there, with a bus or the MRT, it's very quick and easy to go North to Yangmingshan National park and Beitou, or to the coast at Tamsui. There is a morning market and, of course, Shilin night market that starts across the street everyday around 5 PM. From Jiantan MRT you can also climb Jiantan mountain to get an overview of Taipei city. It's also easy to walk to the National Palace museum and to the National Revolutionary Martyrs' Shrine along the river... The hostel itself is very nice, clean and comfortable. The rooms are modern and well-equipped, and the spacious common room facing the reception desk is a perfect place for socializing, having some food or working. Finally, the manager Kenny and the staff are very nice and helpful, and the WiFi excellent!
