My husband, son and I stayed for one night in the Chalet Ecovets.

Due to slow transfer from the airport we arrived late - around 11pm at the chalet.  Though you cannot contact the hosts directly and instead need to phone their HQ in Holland, we did get a message to explain. The chalet and rooms were kindly left open for us to find. The chalet is perched in a quiet location and on a steep hillside and  so it is very important to have snow tyres or chains to reach the car parking area.

Bedding and a towel is provided for each person, but no spare blankets. Unfortunately the rooms were very cold and this made sleeping very difficult. The rooms are traditional and wooden clad and simply furnished with storage space, The family room had an ensuite shower and loo, the other had access to a bathroom in the hallway.  The rooms have single glazing and the south side room had a balcony.  

There are no drinks or kettle facilities provided - which would have been very welcome when finally arriving in from the cold!  But breakfast was hearty and the dining room has a lovely picture window with views across the valley and across to the village. The chalet is a good 500m from the village, but around 250m above the main road up a 1 in 4 steep snowy hill.  

There is the facility to pay by credit card but unfortunately the epdq machine did not have signal and so we had to pay the full amount in cash which was a nuisance as we then had no cash until we could find an ATM later in the day. 

The hosts are welcoming and there are some sitting room areas to relax in. Our visit was fleeting so we didn't get a completely full picture of how it would be to stay there for an extended period. But our general feeling was that overall it was a low cost way to get to our meeting in this otherwise fairly expensive Swiss village.
