Everthing went so smoothly. Highly recommend this hotel. Fantastic hosts.

Hello, we visited the room and turn back to car and booked another hotel. Room was extremely too warm. Children wouldn't sleep any minute there. We're very disappointed.

We stayed one night during a winter car vacation along the east coast. The hotel is central to shopping, restaurants, and lovely neighborhoods. Street parking was free from 7 pm to 9 am. The facility is steeped in history with charming furnishings in the common spaces and high quality beds and bedding in the room - the most comfortable of all the hotels during our trip. Warm fresh bread and lots of other delicious breakfast offerings.  Coffee and tea in the common area as you wish.  It’s a secure building and very quiet - in winter with windows closed.  I can imagine hearing sounds of the city in the summer.  There is a handy elevator to the hotel level, but there are at least 10 steps to get up to the elevator.  We will return for a summer visit to this lovely and historic city.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, decent breakfast and complementary tea, coffee and biscuits.

Unfortunately the rooms arent sounfproof at all and you can hear your neighbours down the hallway snoring. 

You get value for your money, but next time I will stay at a more expensive hotel. In contrast to some other reviewers I don't find  the hotel charmig, just old and in need of a renovation. 

Outdated paper walls. 

Hotel was very clean throughout, and the location (opposite the railway station) was extremely convenient for my needs.Room was comfortable and hotel's decor was attractive; however the building seemed somewhat lacking in maintenance and out-of-date with floors uneven, many door frames being scuffed and unsightly, and pipes and ventilation shafts along the walls most everywhere. There was also a somewhat unpleasant smell in the corridor but fortunately I couldn't sense it in my room or in the breakfast room.The hotel is self-service and I didn't see any staff throughout my stay. But on the whole I felt it was very good value for the very low cost, taking the location into account.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. Very smooth and friendly staff.

Enjoyable stay

The hotel is really convenient to the train station.It is super cute with antique furniture and toy trains (not antique).There isn't a lot of staff, but we got our checkin info by SMS (door codes and room assignments) and everything worked smoothly.The toilets and showers were clean and never a problem to find an available facility. My room had a sink which made it more comfortable to brush teeth and have water during the night.The breakfast had a great selection, even make-your-own museli.

Järnvägshotellet makes you feel welcome as a guest, it has fair prices and the old building is charming. The location close to the railway station is execllern and you will find plenty of restaurants around. The breakfast is great and the room are clean and functuioanl and has al lyou need. Note this is a "hostel" type of place why you share toilet and swower but there ar many of them so you do not need to "stand in line"
